Since I was around the area and my friend was willing to meet me for dinner, we went somewhere nearby as neither of us were up to driving. So we went to Koyaku Grill which was just in the neighbourhood. Plus we like the ambience and also the food. For starters we ordered the house salad with dressing on the side to share. It was quite a big bowl especially since it is meant for one person and luckily we asked for the dressing to come seperately. I am not entirely sure what the mix was but there is definitely a hint of wasabi in it, perhaps even too much because the kick was rather strong. which personally I like though I can't say the same for my friend. To share we both ordered the grilled salmon head with salt. Neither of us were fans of teriyaki sauce so we opted the other option instead and honestly it was a good thing. The fish was fragrant from the grill and just nicely seasoned as the saltiness brings out the fish's natural sweetness. For a person to finish this on their own would probably take a little bit of a challenge but it was jsut enough for two adequately sized apetite girls.  繼續閱讀

Hello! Hello!Today, I am going to blog about Koyaku, a new Japanese restaurant located at the Faber Tower, Taman Desa.Me and my family always seek for good Japanese restaurants, especially the ones nearby where we stay.Glad that I managed to find one recently, which they just opened like 5-6 months ago. Continue reading the post to know how great it is! #heheKoyaku located at the same location as previous well-known Japanese restaurant of "Ïkkyu".Koyaku means "little house" in Japanese. They offer authentic Japanese food with all fresh ingredients imported directly from Japan.Say Hi to Robocon, who is standing right in front of the entrance waiting for you!Koyaku emphasizing "no war"and "never ordinary" in terms of their interior design. They have very unique in-house design which full of Japanese concept, whereby you will certainly feel like you have landed in Japan once you stepped into the restaurant. The entire place used all kinds of eco-friendly, recycled, and crafted as their decoration materials, which has really stand out from the crowd.Such as making the lamp with crafted wood.Reused the Japanese fan as one of the decoration. My childhood idol “Takuya Kimura"! #heheWhat's more! They even imported different kind of recycle carton boxes all the way from Japan as one of the wall decoration. It is also one of my favourite corner inside the restaurant.Truly adore with their creative ideas!Koyaku offers different dining areas to the customers, not only inside seating but you can also eat outside if you prefer. If you coming alone, you can sit at the sushi bar to enjoy your alone time with your meals. If you come in a big group and would like some privacy, you can also book their small little rooms. They have total three private rooms available.Koyaku not only has different ala-carte menus, they also offers a special Omakase dining experience to the customer.Omakase is a kind Japanese dining which you let the chef to tailor made your meal of that day.The chef will prepare the special meal according to what he thinks is the best to serve on that day, what are the freshest ingredients, and also based on your personal taste preference, your budget and so on.I was really blessed to have my first Omakase menu with Koyaku on that day!The Omakase menu is all served on a plate like this; with three kinds of seaweed, shredded radish, 2 types of wasabi, and gari (ginger) in the middle.Kisami Wasabi is the one on the right, which is the chopped wasabi; while the Dama Wasabi on the left is the minced type, which we usually have it in other Japanese restaurants.I personally like the Kisami as I think it is less spicy as the minced one. Ankimo (Monkfish liver) and sea-snail came as the appetizer, with sweet potato chips and fried onion as side dishes.Followed by the first sashimi of Kampachi.Aori Ika is one type of squid.Salmon Belly with a firm texture, topped with Ikura.Botan Ebi topped with Hokkaido Sea Urchin. It's my first time eating raw prawn, couldn't believe it can be so fresh and tasty!Shimaji looks a bit similar like Kampachi.Yet, it is three times more expensive than Kampachi, also the meat is much more firm and oily than Kampachi.Big piece of Scallop from Hokkaido. The chef just torched the fresh scallop a bit and wrapped with the seaweed.Bluefin Tuna is one of my favourite among the others. The meat is so thick and firm to eat with the rice.Salmon Aburi, is a sushi wrapped with avocado and topped with a piece of salmon.I love egg but definitely not egg yolk. This hard boiled egg replaced rice, Ikura and chopped wasabi with egg yolk is certainly increase your appetizer. My another favourite of Soft Shell Crab wrap with Avocado topped with EbikoUnagi with Foie Grass is a deep fried seaweed skin served with Tonkaysu sauce. It is definitely a big bomb after all! The Omakase ended with Kyoho Grape. So fresh! So sweet! It also has a kind of red wine taste!I was truly impressed with everything in Koyaku, not only their super quality food, but also the atmosphere they represented. It is surely a very worth trial authentic Japanese restaurant for the Japanese cuisine lovers, right from the ambiance to the food!I actually went back to Koyaku the next few days with my parents to try their Ala-Carte menu of Shake Atama Nabe, and Shima Aji Atama Nabe.Glad that they both also like the food there, and my dad even said no doubt that they served very fresh food here!Koyaku Japanese Dining & GrillLot G8 & G9, Ground Floor,Podium Block, Faber Tower,Taman Desa, Jalan Desa Bahagia,58100 Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaTel: 603 7984 4688Facebook: Koyaku JapaneseOpening hours: Daily 11am - 3pm / 5pm - 10pm 繼續閱讀

A friend once asked me, "If you were to choose ONE and only ONE type of cuisine to eat for the rest of your life, what cuisine would it be?""Japanese cuisine," I answered.I'm always on the prowl for good Japanese restaurants. A four months old Japanese restaurant, Koyaku Japanese Dining & Grill located at Faber Tower Taman Desa, caught my attention as it was shortlisted for the Time Out KL Food Awards 2015 for Best New Restaurant.Koyaku means "little house" in Japanese. Koyaku Japanese Dining & Grill emphasize on serving only fresh and quality food. All dishes are prepared using the original and best ingredients, all air-flown from Japan.I was instantly mesmerized by the interior of Koyaku. The decor at Koyaku was creative & eco-friendly- most of the decor are crafted using recycled materials such as recycled cardboard boxes from Japan, old fans, old toys which incorporate a modern, funky Japanese vibes without loosing its traditional aesthetic value. Another highlight of Koyaku: life-size Astro Boy action figure! Customers can even make their own Umeshu (Japan liqueur made out of ume) here at Koyaku!Seasonal Japanese fresh produce here at Koyaku!Besides the ala-carte menu, Koyaku offers customers a special Omakase dining experience. I was really fortunate to be able to try out Koyaku's Omakase menu. Omakase is a Japanese phrase that means "I'll leave it to you".Here's an explanation of Omakase dining from Wikipedia! The expression is used at sushi restaurants to leave the selection to the chef. It differs from ordering à la carte. The chef will generally present a series of plates, beginning with the lightest fare and proceeding to the heaviest, richest dishes. The phrase is not exclusive to service of raw fish with rice, and can incorporate grilling, simmering, or other cooking techniques as well. The term omakase is not restricted to flesh, nor to sequential banquets. It can be used generally to mean any selection of dishes prepared at the chef's discretion comprising a meal, including strict vegan.Koyaku's talented chef will tailor your meal according to your personal taste preference, dietary preferences, your budget & the season. Omakase dining offers the chef the choice of what to serve you based on what he feels best represents his skills, while using the freshest fish that is available today. You'll be surprised by the chef's innovative and creativity in producing the best dish to the table.Pricing for Omakase menu starts from RM150, depending on the type of dish served. The pricing is decided beforehand based on the customers' preferences.Ankimo (Monkfish liver) with citrus sauce, cavair and chili radish, sea snail, sweet potato chips and GingkoKampachiThe sashimis are served alongside with fresh wasabi, pickled ginger, wasabi, as well as seaweed & radish.Aori IkaSalmon Belly topped with IkuraBotan Ebi topped with Hokkaido Sea UrchinShimajiThree times more expensive thanThe chef torching the fresh Hokkaido scallops at the sushi bar.Lightly Seared Hokkaido ScallopBlue Fin TunaSalmon AburiHard boiled eggs topped with rice,Ikura, fresh wasabi and curry flakesSoft Shell Crab & Avocado Roll topped with EbikoUnagi with Foie Gras coated with breadcrumbs, deep fried into perfection. Served with Tonkatsu sauce.Kyoho GrapeWe were really lucky as Kyoho grapes were in season! This is by far the best grapes I've ever tasted- sweet, plump, juicy with a wonderful red wine taste.I was really impressed by the quality & freshness of food served at Koyaku. Everything was simply fantastic! The sushi chef was friendly and informative- explaining to us about the dishes served, teaching us ways to enjoy our food the same way the Japanese do. Anticipation and excitement prevails as the experienced sushi chef prepare the next dish right before our eyes. We "ooohhh" & "aaah" in awe watching the chef in action. It was really exciting, guessing what dish will be served next. We didn't know what to expect but every dish far exceeds my expectation!Prior reservation is compulsory for the Omakase menu. Do make your reservations early to avoid disappointment!Koyaku Japanese Dining & GrillLot G8 &G9 Ground Floor,Podium Block, Faber Tower, Taman Desa, Jalan Desa Bahagia, 58100 Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaBusiness Hoursaily 11am-3pm ; 5pm-10pmContact Number: 03-5510 4688Email : info@koyaku.com.myFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/Koyaku-Japanese-Dining-Grill-725788394208501 繼續閱讀

Irassyaimase mean "Welcome" in Japanese. Let's go and explore the best Japanese food in Malaysia. Koyaku is a Japanese restaurant that I highly recommend. Koyaku brings to you the real Japanese culture and foods. A simple design from outside but when you enter the restaurant, you will be "wow" and impressed by their design. I feel like having my dinner at Japan. Astro Boy ready to serve you with good food . Hehe ...Koyaku Japanese Dining & Grill is a suitable place for gathering, enjoying Japanese food and hangout with your partner.Let's talk about the food part. Hold on your saliva first ya... If you love Japanese food, you should try Chef Special Sashimi (Market price). The chef served us with fresh White Tuna, Salmon, Maguro, Hamachi and Botan Ebi. I impressed with the chef as they not only skillful in preparing the food but they ensure the food is fresh, clean and good food presentation. Don't be so greedy dip your your salmon into the Wasabi as the paste really spicy. I was chocked by the Wasabi but I still like the Wasabi. I have some useful tips to share with you : When you eat Sashimi, start with white color Sashimi (White Tuna, Hamachi) as the taste is light. Follow by the red color Sashimi as the taste is strong. The Sashimi is so juicy and highly recommend. The next dish is Inaniwa Udon (you either can choose to serve in hot or cold) (RM 23). I will prefer to serve in cold. The Udon noodle is so smooth and taste good with the sauce. According to Ms. Chen, the Udon noodle is handmade by chef and it does not have any preservative. A simple preparation yet healthy food. Ms. Chen shows us how to mix the mashed ginger and spring onion into the sauce. Then dip the Udon into the sauce and it ready to eat.You have to try Koyaku Special Cawan Mushi (RM22). The portion is very big and it really satisfied my appetite. Want to try some Temaki? Let me introduce yummy Temaki. The first picture is Tuna Avocado Temaki, second picture is Soft Crab Temaki and the last picture is Koyaku Special Temaki. One word I will describe the Temaki is "tasty". I enjoying my dinner so much at KoyakuThen next dishes is Maki Sushi. Maki sushi usually refer to Japanese dish consisting of sushi and raw vegetables wrapped in seaweed. Chef personally prepared variety of Maki sushi for us. I personally will recommend Phoenix Roll (RM 32). They use fresh Avocado on the top. Koyaku also provide set lunch or Choice Course Koyaku dinner that you can choose for. Reasonable price for the food.Koyaku also been shortlisted by TimeOut Kuala Lumpur for Food Awards 2015. Special thanks to Alicia for bringing a lot of happiness to me as I cann't stop myself from eating so. I love you guys. We shall meet up again at Koyaku restaurant. Koyaku Location: Lot G8 & G9, Ground Floor, Podium Block, Faber Tower, Jalan Desa Bahagia, Taman Desa, 58100, Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaContact Number : 03-7984 4688Email: infor@koyaku.com.myFollow them on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/Koyaku-Japanese-Dining-Grill 繼續閱讀
