After trying the famous coconut shake at Klebang (Melaka), there's no doubt that Coconut Grove does it much, much better. Of course, price tag of RM7.50 here vs RM2.20 at Klebang (size difference about 2-3x). Loads of aloe very jelly makes it very refreshing. Overall it's sweet, milky (from ice cream) and very refreshing.

Coconut Grove is no stranger to many people. A lot of us (especially those staying around the area) drive past the square enough times to circle our country. Yet, people like me never bothered to find out what it is all about until I stumbled upon the internet and was instantly hooked up by the few words used to describe the nature of the business – COCONUT JELLY.

And yes! COCONUT GROVE is all about coconut desserts, made into various forms – milkshakes, jelly, ice cream… and oh look! They have cookies too!

Coconut Jelly with Aloe Vera is one of their recommended option and is definitely my favorite. You can eat away all your blues and heat in your body with the refreshing coconut jelly, together with a generous amount of Aloe Vera jelly with a dash of santan (coconut milk) and gula malacca to further stimulate your taste bud. The sweetness will overwhelm your senses and leave you craving for more. I am speaking based on experience and comments from people I know here!

Don’t you think the colour white and green match perfectly? Tender coconut flesh and the chewy green tea jelly for those who are looking for an uncomplicated taste. You can swallow them whole; feel the stimulating coolness sliding down your throat and instantly be rejuvenated by their natural cooling properties.

Be thankful when the random coconut that they serve you is the younger ones so and the flesh is delicate and easier to scoop out for your immense pleasure. Otherwise, just be contented with wholesomeness of the wonderful combination of chewy jelly and coconut jelly.

Don’t forget to check out their flavored shaved ice menus that serve together with different combination of fresh fruits. With its substantial portion, their icy cold desserts are good for sharing.

Coconut Grove is a really cozy corner for some nice, affordable desserts to escape the scorching heat and cool off some steam in you. Ever since I was introduced to this place, it has become one of my favorite place to visit for some nice, simple sweet treats.

Apart from what you have seen here, they actually have plenty of other toppings to choose; from cendol to just a plain simple jelly and they won’t disappoint you in taste.
So mark your calendar today and try it out yourself!

Usually my boyfriend and I would come here for coconut drinks. Since we were a little hungry and nothing much left to have as snack, we tried the sugee cake, which is originated from Portuguese in Malacca. I found its similarity to butter cake, except that it should be more buttery and sinful (according to my Portuguese bf). A little dry, but flavour wise, it was good.

Good thing about having coconut drink here is that you need not to endure the hot and sunny weather outside. The young coconut here was pretty flavorful; it tasted sweet and smelled so fragrant. The coconut flesh was young enough to facilitate digging and the texture of flesh was slurpiliscious and fragrant. The size of the young coconut was pretty decent and it was not too expensive.

Coconut grove also sells kuihs and even sugee cake. I would say sugee cake is one of those things which very few people are familiar with, and even that, not all who know about it love it.The sugee cake is is decent - buttery and nutty flavour with sweet undertones (from nothing exciting - just sugar). All in all, I find it just above average, but it hits the spot for a craving - since it's really hard to find these besides the home made ones from Malacca.

Another variety of coconut jelly that I tried at Coconut Grove is the cendol one. I found that it had a disproportionately large amount of cendol, but not enough gula melaka. I found that the flavours were drowned by the cendol itself. The coconut jelly itself is silky and mildly sweet with natural coconut sweetness. Everything would be perfect with just half the amount of cendol and lots more gula melaka. I wouldn't mind if there was coconut milk in the mix too. I guess what I was really looking

When something has gula melaka, I'm already 50% sold. The coconut jelly with aloe vera and gula melaka really hit the spot as an intensely sweet yet cooling and refreshing dessert. The texture of the jelly and aloe very made the whole thing so very "jellyish" (really, there's no better way to describe it).The gula melaka took centerstage as the main flavour, while the aloe vera flavour lay subtle yet still noticeably important. This is quite possibly my new favourite dessert here.

I simply love this coconut shake. It was a good drink to have in a hot and sunny day, especially when you are about to fall sick. Added with Q-jelly and aloe vera jelly, it gave the drink more surprises element and contrast. It tasted like vanilla ice cream with coconut but the balance was strike. Neither was overpowering one another. It was served in a big jug where it could easily fill two person. This place is quite secluded. You could have passed by everyday and still not notice it. However, I managed to catch a glimpse and asked my bf to bring me one day and we did! For all the coconut jelly with toppings, the price is RM5.50. We had ours with aloe vera. The coconut jelly was very good as it did not taste too artificial. Paired with the crunchy aloe vera drenched in brown sugar, I must say the contrast was quite delightful.

This coconut jelly was very smooth and slurpiliscious. You can taste the flavor of coconut water in it and it was quite rich as far as coconut water can be. Topped with some cendol, mixed with some brown sugar syrup and coconut milk, it was great dessert. Last but not least, I got to dig into the coconut flesh which was quite soft at the bottom and side ;)

These days, frozen dessert places are popping up all over the place. I'm a fan of such desserts myself, but I wouldn't say I'm overly crazy over them.Personally, I think the signature coconut shake at Coconut Grove is much more refreshing and worth the money than those other places. At RM7.50 for a jug (yes, it is served in a jug) of this dessert, it's more expensive than other places but the portion is big enough to share between two people (though I usually prefer having it alone).I'm not sure

Personally, I think the signature coconut shake at Coconut Grove is much more refreshing and worth the money than those other places. At RM7.50 for a jug (yes, it is served in a jug) of this dessert, it's more expensive than other places but the portion is big enough to share between two people (though I usually prefer having it alone).

I'm not sure exactly what's inside, but it's somewhere along the lines of coconut and vanilla ice cream, plus some Q-jelly and aloe vera jelly.

The vanilla aroma is prevalent in this dessert, while the coconut serves more as a subtle base flavour. To me, the Q-jelly serves no other purpose than mere fillers, which the aloe vera jelly contributes most to the texture when you happen to slurp on it (though I think there's too little of it). The overall sweetness and flavour is pretty much exactly like vanilla ice cream, except with additional flavours of coconut. The coconut also makes it so quenching and refreshing.

Besides this, they also serve other desserts such as coconut jelly, nyonya kuih, and daily tong sui.
