With my client being based in Rawang, I have been going rounds looking for good food around the area. Since one of my colleague is a Muslim, we decided to try this Ayam Penyet Ibu Nor. Staying safe, and since the restaurant is named Ayam Penyet, hence I ordered the basic Ayam Penyet. It was served in a separate plate on a banana leaf. The first impression of the dish was that it looks like any other fried chicken except this had some fine crispy topping on it. But after eating a part of the chicken, I realise that the meat were tender and that it was easier to separate the flesh from the bone. This is when I could tell the difference from the usual fried chicken with the 'ayam penyet'.Taste wise, it was tasty but not as flavourful as the 'ayam goreng berempah'. It is served with fried tofu and fried tempeh. The tempeh used were a different type, which is the one with a milder taste and smell. That is something I prefer over the usual strong smelling ones. It was also served with a completely raw cabbage, which I didn't eat at all because eww, I don't take raw cabbage! There was a slice of raw cucumber and that I ate.
