Talking about Lot 10 Hutong would always conjure up the familiar Oriental dishes that we, foodies really have been enjoying all the way. This recent trip has seen that there has been a new member to the Hutong’s, which is Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken, a popular branch originally from Taiwan. Known for its EXTRA LARGE fried chicken that you have ever came across and it’s touted as a ‘must-have’ item back at Shihlin Market in Taiwan.Flavours that we sampled are Black Pepper and Tom Yam paste, with spiciness level can be tailored. Anyway, we personally think that the combo is good enough with the recommended flavor with the Black Pepper as our fave pick. There are also some sweet potatoes fries and normal French fries- also could be paired with cheese topping, if you are up for some extra bites.Comparatively, the fried meat here is first, larger than anyone’s else, second; remain juicily palatable even though only chicken breast is specifically chosen for more a healthier diet. The best part is, the chunky meat is not so oily although is fried till golden brown but still delightfully enveloping the jus within. Not a recommended daily diet of course but surely makes a good snack especially the hunger pangs in between. Slurps!

Lot 10 Hutong has always been famous with its cultural and collection of nice food stalls in city center. I normally would choose noodles when I dine in Lot 10 Hutong, until I found out there is a Hot-Star Fried Chicken shop here!It'll be a must to try out this chicken shop that has been very popular at Taiwan, Australia and other countries as well.From the entrance walking all the way to the other side, then you would see the Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken stall.The chicken is cooked upon order, hence it might take a while to get the fried chicken. It would not be a good choice if you are rushing. But to be frank, the taste worth the wait. The flavor in Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken is really interesting. This time, I've tried Black Peppe and Tom Yam flavor.Tomyam flavor is awesome. It felt like the chicken was showered by thick Tomyam soup to include the flavor, while the texture is crispy and juicy.The fat of the chicken is just nice, top it up with the hot and sour spicy powder, delicious.Black Pepper is surprisingly good. The sauce on the fried chicken is sweet, but it blended well with the chili powder on top of it. Every bite of the chicken feel like the flavor is dancing in the mouth.The drinks were dissappointing though. Grass Herbal Tea tasted somewhat weird. It tastes like a frizzy watered down jelly drink. Sour Plum Tea is acceptably refeshing. If it comes with a few more blocks of ice to add on the coldness of the drink, it would be really great.

HOT-STAR EXTRA LARGE chicken cutlet is originally from Taiwan since 1992. By using unique chicken processing technology and exclusive Chinese medicine formula as the only one exclusive features of the snacks. The first outlet set up In Taiwan night market Shihlin (in front of Yangming theater. Amazingly, it becomes the “must eat” indicator food in Shihlin market nowadays even has high reputation throughout the world and a long queue is the significant scenery to be seen in Shilin Taipei, Taiwan.I have the exclusive invitation from Open Rice sending me this free voucher to redeem at Hot Star to try on their Fried Chicken. Hot Star was located at Lot 10 Food court area, attached next to Isetan. It was a small kiosk selling Large fried chicken which is the Taiwan chicken cutlet that I saw before in Shihlin Taiwan snacks stall in other shopping mall. I showed them this voucher and the staff told me I only entitled for one choices. I argued with them the voucher did not stated anything that I need to choose one of the set and I assumed i will be getting two sets. So he also not sure and I have to call Open Rice office to clarify it. Why there are no clear instructions given to the staff and by right they should know for the rules for this redemption. We are given the chance to try their new products of TOMYAM Large Fried Chicken and Black Pepper Large Fried Chicken.Hot-star Extra Large chicken cutlet is about 1.5larger than usual normal chicken cutlet.They also have promotional sets with sides and drinksCan choose the spiciness levelHot- Star published in few mediasWintermelon is not available, They gave us sour plum teaRefreshing sweet and sour plum juice. first of all，我要感谢open rice和豪大大鸡排offer我testing它家的新口味鸡排，这还是我第一次吃巨大型号鸡排呢。upon arrival，我就被一位语言不通的外劳员工搞得我头大，所幸最后有另一位负责人及时回到店里，要不我就没办法取得鸡排。外劳员工不是不好，但最好是多聘请一位本地人负责掌管，这样才能保证食物的品质与味道，再来是提供最好的服务给顾客。回到重点，原本应该会拿到的 wintermelon和 lemon wintermelon tea因为没了，所以换了两杯sour plum tea，味道普通，喝起来也不像是纯天然的，像是添加了色素的饮料。since店家自己知道有做免费试吃就应该预算多一点wintermelon tea给顾客，这样的服务只会显得你们的管理方式不完善。碳烤黑胡椒(BBQ black pepper)和碳烤泰国东炎(BBQ tom yam) 大鸡排的size个自都很大，果然是豪大大鸡排。只可惜现在没有cutting service了，陪伴的友人说以前是会帮顾客把鸡排切片的。毕竟鸡排那么大片又烫，顾客会吃得很不方便。鸡排是很juicy，热吃或冷吃外皮还是脆的，但冷了才吃的话鸡肉就比较干，没那么嫩了。两种口味当中我比较喜爱黑胡椒，因为它带些甜，而且黑胡椒调味得不会很重，对我而言是刚刚好。虽然order的是中辣，但没什么辣在里头，会不会是没调辣给我们？哈哈。但如果你是吃辣的爱好者的话，最好叫extra spicy。Hot-Star MalaysiaLot 10 Hutong,K9, Lower Ground, Lot 10 Shopping Centre03-80810148Website: Hot-Star Malaysia
