It's the beginning of festive season again. We had our very first lou sang of the year, with jelly fish and pear. It was so juicy and crunchy at the same time.

For those of you who are local from Kuala Lumpur, I bet you have definitely heard of this old but gold restaurant, Pik Wah which is located next to the old Methodist Boys KL school near Jalan Davidson.

Despite its aging building, the interior of the restaurant still looks good. Never judge the book by its cover as we all went home with an extremely happy tummy.

We had the course meal which cost about RM 600 per table. Comes with a three dish combination, taufoo soup, pomfret fish, toasted garlic prawn, salad chicken, dual kai lan, fried rice, small pao as dessert as well as water chest nut tong sui.

The three dishes combo was unique. Comes with a crab filled paste and stuffed bean curd. The chicken salad was special too. Fried chicken with salad dressings and fruits, it was so good that we cleared the plate within minutes. Fried rice was a bit salty though but the pomfret fish makes up for it. With only RM 600, we are still able to have pomfret fish. Definitely worth the price. There was no fishy smell and the flesh was just nice, not too over cooked either.

Despite the old restaurant condition, it was full house last night. Definitely needs reservation before hand.

Here in Pik Wah Restaurant I get to eat the steam kampung chicken that I really like and it taste yummy. The chicken meat is so soft and tender. It is steamed with some black soy sauce so there was a slightly salty taste to it. I would always take the thigh part because its the softest.

My All-Time Favourite Deep-Fried Mantou, I like it because it taste so much better then normal steamed mantou. Here in Pik Wah Restaurant I get to eat the Deep-Fried Mantou that I really like and it taste yummy. It is so crunchy and there is a slight sweet flavor mixed in it.
