well, I would not describe it as a buffet because it does not have a buffet spread like normal buffet, instead the waiter brings the food and serve it to you which is fancy for some people but not me, I'd rather self serve and take what I like and as much as I like! so overall I am not satisfied because I did not consumed as much I expected to and the flavor is just so-so. for the martinis and mojitos, i can't really say much because I'm no expert in cocktails or liquor so it's okay, not bad. we have lychee martinis and of course mojitos with mint leaves. back to the food, variety is bad, if you want to called it a buffet then it should be like a buffet spread or at least like an ala carte buffet which there should be at least 20 items but there are only around 7 items. actually personally, I felt a little cheated by the deal but it's the past anyway and all is good. the soup, scramble egg and potato salad was okay, nothing specialthe meat is just so so. quite dry and tough. some is also bland in flavor, the pork is nice but a little too salty.so sorry to say but I would not visit again. continue reading

Damansara Jaya isn't renowned for its watering holes, so a hip new neighborhood hangout like Dirty Nelly's stands a stellar shot at mopping the floor with its competitors. The pub grub at this porcine paradise tastes terrific and is perfectly priced, with mains costing about RM25. Specialties include the classic English favorite of grilled gammon steak _ a smoky slice of hog thigh with caramelized pineapples & an unapologetically creamy fried duck's egg. Angels & devils on horseback _ pitted prunes wrapped in streaky bacon & sprinkled with cayenne pepper. Also delectable; the luscious prunes simply melt in the mouth, making them seem somewhat like sweetened pork fat. Poor Man's Pate _ pork pate sealed under clarified butter & served with red onion marmalade. Despite its name, this turned out be really rich, boasting a soft, smooth texture _ almost akin to margarine _ and intensely gamy flavor. Wild boar pie. Lots of succulent bits of savory meat, buried beneath a buttery cloud of steaming-hot mashed potatoes. Preferable to a pastry pie, for sure. Lynch Moussas Merlot (2004). Only one type of wine offered, but it's a keeper. This place gets packed by 9pm (even when we were here on a regular Wednesday night earlier this month), so it might be best to book a table. continue reading

Wild boar pie. The wild boar in was covered with a layer of mashed potato and baked to brown. Physically, it looked like a shepherd pie. The mashed potato was soft and creamy. Beneath the mashed potato, it was the savoury meat of wild boar. The meat was fork tender, succulent and moist. The dry gravy was coated with spices and it was very flavourful. A decent combination indeed. continue reading
