The food was just average, but not as good as Sushi Zanmai (where I usually go for Japanese food). They do have variety of foods though. They even serve rice, porridge, noodles, salads, and many more ala carte foods. But I guess normally people would choose from the set menus, since they are much more "cost-efficient". continue reading

When we eat Japanese food, we must eat sashimi. Although sashimi is normal for Japanese restaurant but we still can't run away from it. The sashimi in this restaurant is fresh! They also use the sashimi to make some sushi rolls. It is different feeling that you eat only sashimi and sashimi in sushi roll. I like to eat sashimi itself only but the sashimi sushi taste not bad too, they use thousand island sauce as their sauce. there are some fresh vegetables as their side dishes. continue reading

This is the sirloin steak in a sizzling hot plate. When the waiter served us, we can hear the oil sizzling sound from far. Followed closely is the aroma of the steak that infused the whole restaurant. The steak was marinated and cooked in the teriyaki sauce. The sweet teriyaki sauce goes well with the juices from the steak. The portion was also quite big. The steak remained tender, moist and juicy. continue reading

This is the Japanese restaurant that I choose to visit whenever I want some affordable Japanese food that comes in a set. It is popular in Bandar Puteri, Puchong area.Free refillable green tea is given when you order set meals. My choice of set (around RM25) includes: -RamenI enjoyed slurping the al-dente noodles at the same time sipping decent shoyu-based soup. The slice of charsiu was okay as well. It would be better if the egg was half-boiled rather than hard-boiled.-California RollFresh ingredients wrapped together with nori (seaweed), a good tummy filler if other dishes still doesn't satisfy your tummy.-GyozaThey came piping hot and pan-fried till golden brown on one side, while tender on the surface. The fillings inside are flavourful. I enjoyed this.-Tuna SaladFresh and well seasoned.Service was very attentive and polite. I will definitely go back for their chawanmushi again as I have tasted it and liked it. Smooth, silky and hearty, a simple comfort food that satisfies me. Not forgetting other set meals too, I'm sure they have a lot more to offer. continue reading

Kai Zen Japanese Restaurant is located at Bandar Puteri in Puchong, Selangor. This is a restaurant serving a wide variety of Japanese cuisines. Theere are so many types of foods avaible here, like grills, noodles, rice and etc.Set PorkA very big portion of dish. The gravy Japanese curry was filled with a lot of tender and soft minced pork meat which then absorbed the aromatic curry and became very juicy. Nice and thick Japanese curry. The pork chop was deeply fried into crispy and crunchy on the outside and the meat was yet still smooth. continue reading
