This restaurant seems to specialize in bak changs, with a large variety, and even one which costs RM238++ for 2kg. Madness! But what I tried was a little more modest. It's one of the more traditional ones, with chestnut, mushroom, and pork... or so it claims. There was like half a chest nut, 2 slices of mushroom, some pork fat, and almost no meat. I felt cheated to have paid RM10+ for this nonsense. It was bland, super oily, and was tiny. Totally regret eating here. continue reading

The interior and ambience looks good. I definitely recommend the mixed berry drink which has a very strong taste and aroma. As for the dumplings, since I am used to tasting my babysitter's homemade ones which were way better and not as soft and sticky as this one, my taste buds did not approve of this but maybe KL-ites love this as it is the same like those sold in the night markets here. The Nyonya bachang is quite ok. The Chee Cheong Fan is special in terms of the filling. Never try the mussels because they were too tiny and the tuna filling made me feel like it is something I could make myself! continue reading

Its very hard to find this meal in the city these days, the yam ball. Its fried with a lot of Chinese parsley which make it very aromatic. they blend it with dried shrimp, fried with garlic and onion, Not too salty and nice as lunch for small eater. Restaurant environment is nice and well worth a visit. Tong yuen is filled with peanut or sesame paste with light sweet liquid. continue reading

We ordered this Thai style tofu. The presentation of the dish was a lovely one. There were six pieces of tofu and a mountain high of sliced mangoes, sliced cucumber and sliced onions on top of the tofu. Thai style chili sauce was drizzle over it. The tofu has a firm texture and the tofu skin was also thick and lightly toasted. The raw mangoes and vegetables were appetizing. Luckily the raw mangoes weren't too sour. The thai chili sauce was sweet and spicy. Make sure to eat the tofu together with all the ingredients and the sauce. continue reading
