Ended up in Midvalley on the New Year's Eve and decided on Purple Cane for dinner. We ordered four dishes in total and they were:1) Braised chicken with sweet chilli in tea sauce (came with fried bun) - middle The chicken tasted just alright, there was nothing great to rave about. We ordered four dishes in total and they were:

1) Braised chicken with sweet chilli in tea sauce (came with fried bun) - middle
The chicken tasted just alright, there was nothing great to rave about. The sauce wasn't spicy and had more of sweet taste to it. On the plus side, they gave quite a lot of and my sibling and I enjoy gravy on our rice so it was good
It was a little pricey I must say. The chicken looked like it was the size of quarter of a chicken or rather half of a really skinny chicken and they charge RM30+ for that. It was quite a bomb

2) Homemade stir fried egg with tomato, prawn and tea mill - first on the left
This egg dish may sound and look like an ordinary egg dish that our mums can whip up at home but I loved it! The flavoring was just nice. The subtle taste of tea in the egg gave it a nice finish. I enjoyed to mild taste of this dish cos most of the time when you eat in those chinese restaurants, the flavoring is very strong.

3) Golden beancurd with tea mill - first on the right
Just like the egg dish, this dish also has a very subtle taste, almost healthy as one would reckon. I personally like the tea flavoring in it - makes it different from beancurds that often eat at chinese restaurants. The beancurd itself was very smooth and i like how it's nice and golden on the outside. On top of the beancurd were minced pork/chicken meat (cant really recall). The gravy was more sweet than savoury but wasn't too sweet at the same time, so it was once again 'just nice'

4) Stir fried lotus root and water chestnut with tea - at the end
Those fried 'keropok' added extra crunch to this dish. Loved the combination of the lotus root and water chestnut. Vege fried with tea? Sounds a lil odd but trust me the tea does make a difference, good one that is

I must also add that we enjoyed the tea rice a lot as well. They actually cooked their rice with tea leaves so you can still actually see the leaves in your rice. The fragrance from the tea really gave the rice some ommphh.

Being first-timers, we were a little adamant on how well would tea go with our food but to our surprise we really enjoyed all their tea-infused dishes. Felt really healthy eating there. Haha.

This would definitely not be my last visit
