Hui Lau Shan ventured into Malaysia market not long ago with first branch opened at One Utama Shopping Mall. The brand spread out like storm with more outlets at Berjaya Times Square, The Mines, Pavilion and Gurney Plaza.

Their all-time signature classic is mango dessert that presented in various ways like beverage and jelly. According to the operator, Hui Lau Shan uses high quality mango that flew from Thailand and Philippines for its fragrance and taste.

My super favorite is the Fresh Mango Mochi that costs 4.90 Ringgit Malaysia for 3 pieces. It may looks ordinary outside coated with coconut floss but the filling inside really surprised me! Hui Lau Shan uses real juicy mango fruit instead of mango puree as the filling, therefore high satisfaction is guaranteed here for its wonderful texture and sweetness of the aroma.

To my surprise, Hui Lau Shan non-mango series dessert also tasted not bad. I tried the Signature Curry Combo that costs 7.90 Ringgit Malaysia per bowl. I know that most Malaysian have high spicy tolerance, but Hui Lau Shan is a dessert cafe not curry house, so I did not expect it will be strong spicy with heavy taste. However, the mild curry was fragrance and not too oily with ingredients like cuttlefish, fish ball, tofu pok and white radish. Very seldom I have white radish in curry but this was nice as it easily absorbed the curry gravy and blend in well with white radish own natural sweetness.

I like Hui Lau Shan's concept to promote healthy fruit dessert culture instead of using those artificial coloring and flavor essences. Shall definitely come back here to indulge more!
