This year (2012) Ramadan, I went to Hotel Armada Petaling Jaya and tried out their Ramadan buffet with theme 'Sinar Ramadhan Al-Mubarak' at the Utara Coffee House. Executive chef Chew Teik Chye with his team of culinary masters had successfully prepared the wide selection of buffet spread that offered more than 100 varieties of flavors to tantalize the patrons' palate after a long day of fasting.

I started my gastronomic journey with the assortment of starters such as Kerabu, Lemang, Serunding, Ulam and several of Jeruk. My favorite was the appetizing sourish Kerabu Mangga that instantly opened up my palate to welcome more delicious food into my stomach.

Among all the main courses, the highlights that caught my fancy were mostly the 'kampung nostalgic' namely Sup Tulang Kambing, Roti Jala, Ayam Percik Panggang, Satay, Siput Sedut Masak Cili Padi, and Roasted Lamb. All the Armada's Ramadan signature classics were cooked to perfection diffusing the tempting aromatic smell and taste.

As much as the main courses were deliciously tempting, I always reserved 20% quota for desserts to end the lovely dinner since I am a sweet tooth person. Patrons were spoiled with the varieties of sweet delicacies here too as the dessert spread got my favorites such as Pengat Nangka, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Ais Kacang, Bubur Cha-Cha, traditional Malay Kuih, French pastries, and etc.

It was 85 Ringgit Malaysia per person which I felt reasonable for the wide array of selections. The only regret I had was not grabbing few more sticks of my favorite satay. The combination of fragrantly grilled satay and chunked peanuts sauce with mild spiciness were excellent! Thumbs up.
