For my soup, I chose mushroom. It was chunky and extremely tasty. Perhaps the best mushroom soup I ever had.

Second drink was a ginger-lemongrass iced tea - very appetizing and had a zing to it.

My choice of (pre-ordered) main course was cottage pie. Jackpot! The potatoes were thoughtfully chunky and baked till golden-brown - the outside was a little crispy, and the insides, super soft and chunky. Underneath that layer was the most melty, beef (which was quite fatty but desirably so). This is the pie I've been looking for all my life! Excuse the drama, but this is a significant milestone in my life. The pie was so big, it filled 2 people very easily. But at Huck's there's no such thing as 1 main to share - it's one full course per person, because he limits the number of guests - therefore each guest equals to one full course.

I would come here again and again on merit of this pie alone.

The durian mudpie was also absolutely divine. Cold, creamy, rich, and full of durian taste; thoughtfully topped off with peanuts (though I suspect macadamias would've been better), this dessert was an absolute delight; but despite how perfect it was, it couldn't match the climax of the cottage pie.

Finally, my choice of old-school Hainanese-style coffee. It was very strong and is exactly how every morning coffee should be. I sweetened it with just a half teaspoon of brown sugar.

RM88 nett and I was explodingly full and satisfied beyond anything else. Huck's food is made very thoughtfully, and this visit would be my first among many over the years.
