Fried Squid Smile Sep 01, 2013

Voted as one of the best place to eat seafood in Langkawi, we braced the long and windy road from our lodging place to Kuah. It was relatively easy to find and when we arrive, the place was already full. We ordered alot of seafood! And one of them is the fried squid. Although the squid size is small, they do not disappoint in taste. They were crunchy, covered in beautiful batter and I really just love the crunchy bits! They don't seem oily too. Definitely one of the best dish in the shop!

Coconut Shake Smile Aug 28, 2013

This is the first time having a coconut shake and I must say I'm awed by the process. This stall was manned by 2 workers. But in actual fact, only one of them actually do the job. The other one was an entertainer and song mixer. It was quite fun looking at them.

After blending the ice, condensed milk and sugar syrup was poured in the blender. Next is the water from the coconut which they cut one on the spot. Really cool! There were also coconut meat mixed in the drink. I think we were given a bit more than the uncle who ordered together with us because there were two of us sharing. But it was very generous of them.

The shake was icy cool! Very nice and cooling on a hot day like that! It was sweet and rice and most importantly, taste good! There were also small slices of coconut meat blended inside which makes a nice bite. It was also quite filling due to the amount of milk that was mixed inside. But all in all it was a great, throat-soothing drink!

Kam Heong Mantis Prawn OK Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

This restaurant is located right in front of Bella Vista hotel, but not at the main road as initially thought. We arrived approximately 9.00pm. At that time there were still space, but by the time we left this restaurant at 10pm it was packed and some people had to stand and wait for space.

We ordered the fried mantis prawn as it was among one of the recommended dishes by the waiter. The waiter was quite friendly and consistently asked us if the food was alright.

The mantis prawn was decent, as I find that it slightly overcooked. It was lacking in the sweetness flavour and also too dry. The kam heong sauce was quite delicious. The only good thing about this dish is that it is freshly made and therefore crispy.

This dish costs RM10, which is extremely cheap.

Cucur Cempedak Smile Aug 29, 2013

We were captivated by the cempedak smell as we went into the burnt rice field. Upon coming out, it started to rain. But we just had to get those aromatic cempedaks! So my bf went under the rain to secure some for us. 4pcs for only RM1! They were fresh from the fryer and too hot to be eaten then. We waited patiently for it to cool down. After a while, I took the first munch and it was heavenly. The outer layer was crispy and inner was soft, juicy and sweet! It's worth the rain and wait and even got my gums scalded in the end!

Grilled Stingray Cry Sep 29, 2013   (Related Review)

Ordered the grilled stingray, as it was among one of the must haves when it comes to seafood. It was served very very fast, in fact it was within 10 minutes after ordering it. The speed of the dishes served were phenomenal and definitely well appreciated, especially since we were starving.

The grilled stingray was a little of a disappointment to say the truth. Perhaps it was because I was not used to the way this dish was made as it was not grilled to crispiness. Instead it was kind of steamed and therefore it was quite soft and not crispy as expected.

The sauce was quite nice, but it would be much more delicious if there were some crispiness on the fish. This dish costs RM24.50.
