Apple cake OK Sep 30, 2013

Hidden among the almost all empty shop lots at Zenith, I manage to stumble upon a humble, French-owned bakery. It's like Alice in Wonderland because the bakery looks quite cute from the outside. I was a bit surprise when I found that only a small part in the bakery is selling pastries. I suppose it's main service is to cater cakes for hotels? Not too sure.

I settled with an apple cake as it looks tempting from the fridge. The patissier did warn me that the recipe went wrong with it but I insisted on it. It tasted fresh and moist at first but after leaving it for a few minutes, it starts to hardened up. The taste wasn't too sweet, it wasn't something I'm used to. I would prefer it to be more supple. I would give it another try with the right recipe.

Spending per head: Approximately RM6

Zucchini Primevera OK Sep 30, 2013   (Related Review)

As we have vegetarians colleagues, we also ordered a vegetarian pizza for them as well. This pizza consists of a huge amount of roasted zucchini, broccoli hearts, fresh spinach and a generous amount of diced tomatoes and olives. As expected of a vegetarian pizza, this pizza tastes very green to me. It is perhaps that I do not like the taste of roasted zucchini. The diced tomatoes and olives actually made this dish much more delectable. The generous amount of cheese also helped me finish this slice of pizza.

Strictly for vegetable lovers only!

Indomee Goreng Smile Sep 30, 2013   (Related Review)

Indomee seems like a easy dish to cook but with the wrong seasoning and wrong timing, it could spell disaster. This plate was quite good actually. It was nicely seasoned and not greasy. The noodles was also cooked al dante. As for the egg, I would prefer the a sunny side up which didn't realize. A sunny side up would be runny and blend together with the noodles. But overall it's not too bad of an indomee.

The Aloha OK Sep 30, 2013   (Related Review)

My office ordered some pizza as we were all working late that night. The first pizza that I tried is called 'The Aloha'. Unlike the usual chicken and pineapple combination of what we would associate with a typical Hawaiian pizza , the only common thing about this pizza is the pineapples. This pizza contains a generous amount of turkey bacon along with a thick layer of cheese.

Instead of the usual bland chicken, the turkey bacon gives the dish an extra flavourful taste and it goes very well with the sourish sweet pineapple and the strong tasting cheese.

This pizza is part of a buy 1 free 1 combo, which costs RM37.90 for 2 pizzas. Good value for money!

Chicken Wings OK Sep 30, 2013

Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta

One of the must have side dishes when having pizza are the chicken wings. My colleague was smart enough to order this, since it would be under the company's bill anyway.

The chicken wings comes in aluminum foil which ensures that the chicken wings are still warm when it arrived. I love that the chicken wings are caramelized with a hint of sweetness along with its savoury taste. The meat was perfectly done, and not too soft.

I would prefer it to be slightly crispier, but generally it is acceptable.
