Fried Tong Fun Smile Aug 19, 2013

Came by PISA Corner Cafe food court as many other eateries around this area have already been closed. A friend who is also a local recommended me to try from this stall, as he said it was delicious. So I ordered the fried tong fun (glass noodle). It took slightly long for the dish to arrive, around 10-15 minutes. It could be because I was hungry and could not wait much.

The fried glass noodle is indeed very delicious. It has a strong wok hei, and unlike many other fried glass noodle, this one is not wet, and it is very springy as well. It is well flavoured and salted. This dish comes with fresh succulent prawns, eggs, beansprouts and vegetables among others. For RM5.00 (big), it is worth it.

As I have been indulging myself with coffee recently, I have decided to try their white coffee even though it was dinner time and I risk not being able to sleep at night.
It appears to me that the White House brand differs from the Nyonya Cuisine's branding. One thing I noticed was also that the White House brand actually refers to the USA President's White House, which it's logo actually can be seen from the menu. I truly wonder if Barack Obama actually drinks white coffee or not.

Anyway, the white coffee here is actually not too bad. It has a nice layer of froth on top, which lasts throughout my meal and does not dissipate easily. The coffee is quite thick with a rich flavour of coffee and milk. My only complain was that it was a little too sweet for me, and it would be better if they do not add so much sugar.

This cup of white coffee (iced) costs RM4.20++.

Fried Jawa Mee OK Aug 29, 2013   (Related Review)

My client ordered the Fried Jawa Mee and I got to taste some of it as he could not finish it. The fried Jawa Mee served here is quite wet, and although it is not exactly the style which I like it is surprisingly decent. It is a little spicy, but added with the tangy sour lime juice which we could opt to squeeze it in, I find it much more delicious. This dish comes with pieces of tofu, slices of meat and a generous amount of fat beansprouts.

Loh Mee Cham OK Aug 29, 2013

Came to Penang recently for business trip and my client brought me to Northam Beach Cafe for dinner. As per his recommendations, I ordered the Loh Mee Cham. This dish is basically Loh Mee mixed with Prawn Noodles (Or known as Hokkien Mee in Penang).

I love the fresh prawns that they served on this bowl of noodles. Even though it is small, but at the very least they are fresh, as compared to the ones in KL which they usually serve even smaller and dried prawns. The mix of the thick Loh Mee broth and the flavourful prawn mee broth is indeed a very delicious and special style. The noodles are well cooked, and I love the fat beansprouts that they gave.

All in all a delicious dish.

Grilled Fish OK Aug 19, 2013   (Related Review)

My friend ordered the grilled fish for sharing, as he wanted to eat some as well. He ordered the stingray, and it was to be grilled as per normal style and not portugese style.
The grilled stingray took around 20 minutes to be served. It is served on a banana leaf, which I presume helps the dish to be more fragrant. The grilled stingray is quite delicious, as it is well marinated. It does not have much fishy smell, therefore we concluded that it is quite fresh. The chilli also goes very well with the fish. It is spicy, with a strong smell and taste of raw onions.

For RM12, this grilled stingray is quite worth it.
