Each of us was given a petite bowl of appetizer, the crab salad. It came with a special Kura blend sauce which is sweet and sour but most importantly, makes it very, very appetizing! There were also a good amount of salad at the bottom of the blend and crab sticks. The mixture together with the fresh vegetables and slices of crab sticks makes an excellent introduction to Kura's incoming entree dishes!

Dragon Roll Smile Aug 13, 2013   (Related Review)

The dragon roll looks majestic from the presentation. And even with high expectations, it do not disappoint. The thick fried prawn body was chopped, relayout and wrapped with generous amount of avocado, then topped with fish roe. The meat, rice and mayo content is just nice, not to mention the avocado was fresh. The prawn meat was also fresh and tangy. To sum it up, it's a delicious combination with great presentation!

Kura's unagi came freshly cooked with sufficient char, sweet soy sauce and great smell. It's slightly sweetened but mix with a bit of saltiness from the soy sauce mixture The meat is soft and thoroughly deboned. I simply like the charred area because there's where it stores the gravy. Always like it a bit charred for the extra taste. The skin it also smooth and soft, the perfect unagi dish!

Sashimi Smile Aug 13, 2013

Kura, by far serves the BEST sashimi in the PJ vicinity. I'm not a fan of tuna sashimi but somehow the ones in Kura are not only good, they are GREAT! They serve the best sashimi cuts which melts in your mouth, seriously! The shoyu (soy sauce) and wasabi are of high grade just from the richness of the taste. In fact, you don't need to couple the sashimi with any seasoning like what most Malaysian love to each their sashimi with. My favourite would be the salmon belly mix with cod roe. The freshness of the salmon belly wrapped up a few cod roes and with each bite, the cod roe will ooze a significant amount of roe essence into the sashimi, it's just pure goodness!

Service is also top notch. Although they hire foreign workers, they are well-mannered and will do their best to serve us. We didn't hesitate to tip them.

Dog Food Smile Jul 19, 2013

I must rave about this dish to anyone who wanna try Betty's. It's the bestest side in the universe. Served hot, the big fat chips were soaked in special god-knows-what gravy, topped with different types of gooey cheese that will make you salivate just at the sight of it. Once you pop, you really can't stop, it's that good. The melted cheese mix with the gravy is just heavenly. The whole thing taste savoury and sloppy, is that how dog food is suppose to be? If that's not enough, there are bits of onion in the gravy mix. There no heavy onion smell if any at all, probably already blended will into the gravy already. With just RM10, it's a great side to add on to a meal, either for sharing or to gobble the whole thing yourself!

Spending per head: Approximately RM10(晚餐)
