Sashimi ala cart OK Sep 03, 2013

Sashimi a la carte as appetizer is always what I will do when I was in Japanese restaurant.
It can be used as a way to know the quality of the chef in that particular restaurant.
Umai-Ya in uptown was not so crowded during weekday around dinner time. So we went in for a dinner and order this sashimi ala carte. It came with four types of sashimi for example salmon sashimi, octopus, red tuna and white tuna/squid slices. All of them were fresh. I love their salmon sashimi because that was really fresh and thick slice they gave.

Sushi Zanmai in Paradigm mall is always crowded with long queue. However, there was a night I was there with lesser crowd and there I went in for a dinner before headed home. THIS IS MUST ORDERED sushi! I love how the mayonaise been smoked on top of the squid slice. It tasted heaven! The smoked mayonaise was nice and tasty, it is a combination of sweet and salty. I like it.

AWESOME grilled chicken chop.
There was a day I was craving for chicken chop, then I went to the stall in citibank food court. I was alone just to eat this. As usual the queue was long, I waited about 15 minutes to get this. It is served with coeslaw, fries or you can changed it to mashed potatoes and chicken chop with mushroom sauce. It was slightly salty but I like it! The chicken was so tender and every single bite gave you satisfaction.

White tuna sashimi OK Aug 13, 2013   (Related Review)

mad

Looking at the picture, I am craving for more fresh sashimi!
You can hardly get a fresh white tuna sashimi in normal Japanese restaurant. I love how Umaiya or other high tier Japanese restaurant has a bar sites for sashimi, not sushi belt. I enjoy seeing chef cutting and serves me fresh sashimi. The meat was so nice, texture was chewy and not too thin. Prize wise is a little expensive but if you like sashimi, why not? mad

Beef bento set Smile Aug 12, 2013

Sushi Zanmai in One Utama is always packed and long queue. Managed to get in a table of two after 20minutes.
Stirred fried beef in Sushi Zanmai was awesome. Awesome in a way it is not expensive but meat came in big portion, and tender enough to ask for more! Not too salty but just nice to eat with rice. Beef bento set was reasonable in price. If you are not someone that can queue for long, try to go to the Zanmai in Paradigm.

Spending per head: Approximately RM40(晚餐)
