Sweet Potato Leaves Cry Jun 25, 2012   (Related Review)

Sweet Potato Leaves

Sweet Potato Leaves

The sweet potato leaves soup was disappointing. First of all, the soup was tasteless. Second of all, the dish was almost effortless. Just throw in the leaves and let it boil until it is soggy and let the flavour blend into the soup. Tada! So simple yet the flavour couldn't be done right.

Red Bean Paste with Glutinous Rice Balls

Red Bean Paste with Glutinous Rice Balls

This dessert was a total NO-NO. The red bean "paste" tasted like few rounds of dilution; not sweet and did not taste much of the red bean. The glutinous ball was normal; a little chewy. It came with black sesame paste, which was sweet. Again, it was nothing to shout about as you could easily get some of these off the shelf. My advice : DON'T ORDER THIS!

Sesame You Tiao [RM0.60]

Sesame You Tiao [RM0.60]

The look wasn't tempting at all but I decided to give it a try nevertheless. I regretted for it was just bad.

Look at the texture, it was dense instead of fluffy, appeared to be lack of breathing of dough or just the wrong mixture of dough. The sesame fragrance was totally covered up by the bad taste of the dough. NEVER ever bother to try.

Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese Cry Jun 24, 2012

Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese [RM8.90]

Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese [RM8.90]

Sometimes you will find yourself having lunch with colleagues in an Asian restaurant but personally feeling like western. In the end you would order something like this in a not so ideal place. The spaghetti was prepared in a conventional manner, which was neither too soggy or al dente. There was very little meat in the bolognese, nearly pitiful. The sauce color looked wrong and tasted a little curry-ish (powdery). If you asked me, the flavor was very street stall like, which is something Malaysian-ified and totally not how it should taste like in a proper or decent Italian place. So my advice is should you feel like pasta, go to an Italian place.

Angel Choco French Curler [RM2.40]

Angel Choco French Curler [RM2.40]

French curler is the new product being promoted recently. Having tried their not so ideal pon de walnut the first time, I felt like giving them another chance to prove themselves worthy. It did look very pretty from the shelf, on the banner. Angel Choco has cream filling inside, which I thought it would be better.

I was wrong though. The first bite into the french curler, the texture was wrong. Dry, dense, it tasted like fiasco. The choco coat was cold, the french curler was cold, even the cream was not placed proportionately. Utter disappointment.
