Hong Kee Dim Sum! Smile Feb 20, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Dim sum

I usually have dim sum fix at Seong Kee which is the same row as Hong Kee. But I woke up late that day and decided not to fight amongst the crowd for a table and decided to give the latter restaurant a go. To my surprise, the experience was amazing! It has been a while since I had decent, fresh and piping hot dim sum go into my mouth.

Overall, the food was great, service was efficient and the environment was clean and comfortable. Definitely worth another visit soon!

Mama's Kitchen Smile Feb 02, 2013

I got lost looking for a restaurant called 'Hoofed' in TTDI. Frustrated, tired and hungry, I parked my car and right in front of me was Mama's Kitchen!

I am not a big fan of Claypot Lo-Shu-Fun but I am now a convert, all thanks to the wonderful experience at this restaurant! The portion was generous and the noodles were bouncy. The dish was not too salty and the minced pork was amazingly flavourful! Presentation was superb - it came with a sunnyside up that was wobbling like mad haha!!

Service was not the best so don't expect much from a typical Chinese restaurant.

The Hill Smile Feb 02, 2013

I visited the restaurant on the basis of attending a wine tasting event. Since it only starts at 8.30 PM, I decided to grab dinner. The burger menu was really tempting so I went for The Sloppy Monster burger!

The beef patty was juicy and BOY was it sloppy with the chilli con carne gravy dripping left and right! The portion was reasonable given that costs RM28.

The wine tasting event was an eye opener as well. Free flow of 7 different kinds of wine (red + white) and lagers, as well as, unlimited finger food!

Overall, the service was great. The staff were attentive and professional. Definitely worth a revisit some time soon!

Christmas platter!

Christmas platter!

Visited this restaurant for the Christmas Eve 4-course dinner on the basis of having purchased a Groupon deal.

Overall, the service and food was reasonable despite the busy period. As for the food portion, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of making it more value for money.

FYI - for those who enjoy a game of pool and some drinks, there's a bar within the premises with a great variety of alcohol selection. A nice hangout spot, nonetheless!

The mixed platter!

The mixed platter!

Came here for lunch after hiking in Shah Alam. At the peak hour, the turnover was pretty good. Service was superbly efficient too!

We order a 'mixed platter' (pun fei sau + cham) for 3 pax along with the 'glass vegetables', 'taufoo pok' and 'yau char gui'. Within 5 minutes, we were chowing down the food like hungry ghosts haha!!

The food quality was decent and for 3 pax with drinks, the bill was RM50 nett. Definitely recommended to those who crave for a trouble-free BKT fix and staying around Kelana Jaya!
