Wan Tan Mee Smile Mar 27, 2016

Had lunch after running some errands and my boyfriend and I decided to have some wanton noodles. We went to Pontian Wanton Noodles house because they serve quite delicious wanton noodles. And since the weather was so hot, we wanted an eating place that has air conditioning.
We had their signature wanton noodles in black sauce and in large. The large bowl cost RM8.50, the medium cost RM7.50 and the small cost RM6.50. All were just RM1 difference. There were 3 different sauces you can choose from, either the black sauce, chilli and black sauce or tomato. This is the first time I came across such place that offers tomato sauce in wanton noodles! The fried wanton was really crispy and yummy and the noodles were flavourful.
Apart from that, we ordered honey dew sago for dessert. It was RM4.50 per bowl and contains watermelon, sago and honeydew dices. Really a refreshing drink on a hot day!

XO Fried Fish Head Noodles!  Smile Mar 27, 2016

Went hiking at Bukit Gasing for 2 consecutive days during the weekends and so after a good workout, my parents and I decided to go to Taman Paramount to have lunch. Initially we wanted to have pan mee at Seapark but it was closed due to Ching Ming so we went to eat fish head noodles at Restaurant Kaki Bola Dua instead!
I had the XO fried fish head noodles where the noodles and the fried fish head were separated in two different bowls so that the fried fish head won’t become soggy if placed in the soup. It was RM9 for small and RM11.80 for large. I had the small one because the small one was already very large to me! There were lots of vegetables and the broth tasted quite good, but I think I tasted better fish head noodles.
My parents ordered the XO fresh fish head noodles where the fish were not fried. They said it tasted quite good and the portion was huge. We had quite a decent meal and might come here again!

Cheese with mashed potatoes  Smile Mar 26, 2016

Had a long afternoon nap and I woke up feeling hungry. Since I did not have lunch, I decided to fill my empty stomach by having some snack. I was craving for KFC, so I went there and ordered their loaded potato bowl!! I‘ve always wanted to try that so badly and I finally got the chance to do so!
The bowl of goodness was filled with mashed potatoes at the bottom, and stacked with crispy fried chicken dices in cheese sauce as well as corn to top it off. The cheese sauce was the cheesy wedges cheese sauce and I loved it alot!!
The bowl was only RM5.50 and it was really filling!! I love how the chicken dices goes well with the cheese and mashed potatoes. Everything goes well with cheese!! Definitely will eat this again in the future.

Breakfast for champions Smile Mar 26, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Started off my Saturday morning by spending some quality time with my parents through jungle trekking at Bukit Gasing! After that, we went for some good old school breakfast at a coffee shop situated at PJ Old Town. Just right opposite the market, this coffee shop serves really good soft boiled eggs and toasted bread!!
My parents and I ordered 3 sets of toasted bread and 1 set of steamed bread, both were spread with kaya and planta. Besides that we ordered 3 sets of soft boiled eggs eggs which consisted of two eggs per set and the eggs were seriously huge!! We had milo ice and hot coffee as well. Out total bill costed RM 20 + and I think it was pretty reasonable. One set of toasted bread (2 slices of bread) cost RM 2 only!! And the 2 soft boiled eggs were RM2.40. The soft boiled eggs were cooked at the right temperature and it goes really well with the crispy toast. Definitely a place I will visit again!!

Seaweed Popiah! Yumz! Smile Mar 25, 2016

Categories : Malaysian variety | Stall / Warung | Sweets/Snack

Popiah has always been one of my favourite snacks and I can really eat 2 rolls all by myself if I want to! Apart from that, I love sushi too because I like how the wrapping my food with seaweed. What about combining both?? What better to have popiah wrapped around Japanese seaweed!?!
It was in the evening and my dad and I were hungry so we decided to grab some snacks before heading home. My dropped by Paratha Crispy Popiah stall at Main Place and ordered 1 set. It was truly comfort food to me!! I love how everything (crispy fried bits, carrots, cucumber and the seaweed ) complimented each other! And even if the ingredients wrapped inside the seaweed was a bit moist due to the sauces, the seaweed did not turn soggy and remained very crispy! Definitely a place I will visit a lot often!!
