Dropping quality Cry Feb 29, 2016
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant

Used to came here quite often back in 2011 for their affordable western cuisine.

Yesterday pay for another visit after 5 years, sadly to say I was disappointed.

We ordered for baked potato skin, garlic bread, escargot, melaka sambal fish and cheese fondue. The dish doesn't served in order, but it was okay, I didn't expect for a 5 star service with 2 star price right. But then I was terrified by the dropping standard. The potato skin was alright (and I guess that was the best among all), garlic bread was fine, crunchy and crispy. The escargot was probably good too, well matched with the cheesy garlic sauce. The cheese fondue was too strong fire and it burnt the tasteless cheese. The melaka sambal fish was a disaster, funny sambal taste with super oily crackers, didn't even bother to try it out.

Despite being cheap, I guess that will be my last visit.

Just to fill your hungry stomach Cry Feb 29, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Seafood

Was here last Wednesday night to have dinner before catching the movie. Always my favourite Indian restaurant when I was in a hurry and do not know what to eat.

Staff are friendly, don't get me wrong, it's good but that doesn't mean all. Some are rude and the lady at the cashier didn't even bother to give us a look when we were standing there ready to pay. She just busy playing with her phone as if we are invincible to her. Nonetheless the serving staff are friendly and cheerful.

Ordered Masala tea, was way too disappointed. The tea wasn't herbal-like and really lack of something that makes it tasted exactly like normal teh tarik.

We had Cheese Naan and Tosai Sardine. The cheese naan was not dry enough, not to mention the cheese was to little to enjoy. Nonetheless I still enjoy their dough although my boy friend was commenting it was wet.

As for his Tosai Sardine, the dal and sauce was totally a failure. He couldn't seem to even recognise what's the sauce made off and it didn't taste good. I've tried and unfortunately I have to agree with him, the mint sauce was a disaster and the one with dried chilli was ... non-sense.

However, since I'm living in this neighbourhood it's still a good place to chill and chit-chat with friends.

have fun with Widow! Cry Feb 18, 2016
Categories : Café | Noodles

This pup named 'Widow' (hope I get it correctly) is only 7 months old and very playful!

with the facilities of a pet hotel, you can bring your pet along to enjoy their pet grooming session (chargeable of course!) and pet swimming session while having your tea. It's also a pet hotel where you can put your pets in a safe hand while you're away travelling for a short period.

They have a good selection of fresh juices, and I have a taste of their real nice chocolate mousse cake too! But the portion is slightly small though.

Overall, too pricey for such an experience.

Salty for most of the dish Cry Jan 16, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Noodles

3 of us ordered different dishes, and the comments were, "SALTY".

My friend caught a pinch of salt buried in the middle of her Pineapple Fried Rice.

As for myself, for I can accept slightly heavy taste dishes, I think it's okay.

However, the portion was generous enough.

Since we can easily find Thai restaurant else where, I guess it's not worth to pay second visit.

Nothing special Cry Jan 16, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

Despite being at the center of Ipoh Town, this place has nothing special to blah about. Perhaps this is the only place in Ipoh where you might find big bowl noodle / boat noodle, where the big bowl noodle is just a big bowl with a lot noodles, that can feed 5 stomachs; and boat noodle whereas is the real small scoop noodle with RM1.90 per boat.

I dropped in, in a hot sunny day, to have some fresh air and perhaps some cold coffee to refresh myself. Ordered a custard and a glass of iced coffee, nothing special

Well, custard is sweet, you can't blame that, but besides that something is missing. The pudding was slightly too firm for a pudding, if you get what I mean. Perhaps I'm so used to the famous caramel pudding nearby (which is real soft), I don't particularly fond this firm-pudding.

As for the iced coffee, well, just a glass of a very normal iced coffee.

Would't recommend for a second visit, unless you just need a place to rest your feet.
