oden OK Apr 19, 2016

Had the usual Ontama Bukkake Udon which comes with an option of hot or cold and i definitely chose the cold over hot as i personally felt that the texture would be chewy and springy when its cold. We had fried and steamed Chikuwa for the oden, and Kakiage for the sides. One of my personal favourite is definitely their Kakiage.  It's super cripsy and packed full of mixed vegetable strips, such as onion, carrot, and burdock.

plan b takeover  Smile Apr 19, 2016

Managed to try out the different menu this time in conjunction with the #planbtakeover. Of course we tried the very highly talked about Singapore Chili Crab spaghettini,  Salted  Egg Yolk carbonara, Beef Rendang wafflewich and the Fries which comes with a choice of the sauce.

My personal favourite was the Salted Egg Carbonara with crispy chicken crackling! smile it was so good to the extent that i would literally dip all the fries inside the pasta sauce. the Singapore Chili Crab spaghettini comes with a hint of lime. reminded me so much of our local laksa which tasted tangy and spicy at the same time. Never knew that the sauce could go so well with the pasta. However, the Malaysian Corned Beef Rendang Wafflewich was quite a disappointment as it was very dry on the exterior but the salad that came with it was very flavourful. We chose Salted Egg Yolk sauce for the Skin on Fries to share but also, the sauce provided was too little, so we didn't end up finishing it.

service could be abit more prompt next time.

spiked! Smile Apr 19, 2016

Raven Blend cold brew with milk, Bub's cake and Spiked. The Raven cold brew was good as usual and tasted extra nutty today! Spiked is a newly introduced drink which resembles an iced long black infused with lemon. It consisted of a single shot of Lucky Basterd blend over ice+ lemon slices and lemon thyme. Tasted super refreshing on a hot weather like this 🏽 somehow it also tasted like Asam (tamarind) to me.
Bub's cake complemented well with the drinks. Thick slices of banana cake slathered with the peanut butter cream at the corners topped with chunks of pecans.

ramen and xiao long bao Smile Apr 19, 2016

Digging the sesame peanut spicy sauce over the ramen and this time we chose dry! Pretty big portion and also not forgetting their famous Xiao Long bao. We had the mixed pork and shrimp xiao long bao (steamed dumplings). These little morsels of goodness was flavourful on its own and the addition of the vinegar ginger soy sauce adds a little touch of oomph to it! The dumplings burst out with the broth on the inside.

toast and kopi. Smile Apr 19, 2016

As simple as how the name of this place sounds, this small vendor inside the Food Republic Food Court is always seen to be one of those usually crowded with people. Love the simplistic butter kaya toast set that comes with their kopi and half boiled eggs. The toast is super crispy and not dry on the exterior. I also tried dipping the toast into the eggs and they didn’t turn soggy at all!
