Deep Fried Mee Suah OK Jan 22, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Sweets/Snack | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

Deep fired mee suah (heong dai mai) - first time hearing that. Nothing special, it's actually just like the mamee noodle snack.

The gravy is similar to the wat tan hor gravy, with the usual vege, fish cake and pork meat. The portion is a bit huge though.

Big Prawn Wan Tan Mee Smile Jan 22, 2016

Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Noodles

Known for it's Chinese local delicacy, Petaling Street houses a stall that sells prawn wantan noodles.

You'll be surprised how huge the prawns are and it all costs for only RM7.

The noodle is of fine texture but you can taste the alkaline lye water which I personally feel that it is the only flaw.

All in all, the noodle is worth the price.

Seafood at Orkid Ria OK Jan 17, 2016
Categories : Thai | Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Seafood

The ambience is like a normal Chinese restaurant and is a tourist dine-in spot.

The seafood is a bit overrated and quite expensive for the portion.

The tomyam prawn is RM28 for small portion whereas the deep fried sotong is RM18 for small portion.

Portuguese Grill Fish Smile Jan 17, 2016

The stall only operates at evening hours. You can choose from a variety of seafood such as lala clams, sotong, sting ray fish. You can also choose your portion of big or small - the big portion is not much different than the small though.

We ordered the sting ray and sotong at big portion for RM20. It is quite spicy but overall the it tasted good.

The restaurant is always packed with customers most of the time. The place is congested especially during lunch hours that sometimes you will have to wait for the earlier customers to finish their food so you can get a nice decent seat for yourself. Hence, if you are planning to eat at the place, remember to go earlier.

For the roast duck or chicken, 1/4 of it should be enough if you plan to order a second dish. We ordered 2 dishes for 4 people and it was just enough. The total of the two dishes costed RM40, and rice is at RM1.50 per plate.

The taste overall is good but is expensive for the portion.
