Shredded Chicken & Mushroom Mee  Smile Jul 26, 2015

The best wantan mee ever in Ipoh. The stall has been in operation since 1993 - that's 22 years! This stall serves my all time favorite wantan mee and it is a must-have every single time I return to Ipoh.

Here's the aunty making the noodles! She is a very friendly woman with a great memory - she has the ability of taking down many many orders without writing it down.

The menu:

Ginger Steamed Red Tilapia  Smile Jul 11, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Located at the very back corner of Restaurant Triple Eight, is a seafood “dai chao” that operates only from evenings onwards. This is one of the place to consider for family occasions and celebrations.

I recommend the ginger steamed Tilapia and the sweet sour pork.

Coated with a generous amount of ginger, it gives you a pleasant warm sensation in your stomach, and the fish tastes very fresh and very, very succulent. excitedexcitedexcited

The sweet and sour pork on the other hand, is unlike any other. The meat itself has a distinct aroma and I guarantee you'll come back for more! lovelovelove

The price is very reasonable (quite cheap actually!) - The fish only costs RM35+ (depending on the size of the fish) and the sweet sour pork only RM16. The chefs are really skilled, food is served very quickly too.

Korean Food at Super Fair Price Smile Jul 11, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Korean | Café

It was Thursday Night Out with my bunch of colleagues.

We were having an important discussion - where to eat. Because we had a "specialist" in good food search (with fair pricing), we ended up at Cafe Korea.

Since it was our first time at Cafe Korea, we decided to share all orders.

We ordered:

Chicken Bulgogi

The amount of meat is generous. They use some special sauce to make it taste so yummy. This is so good. yummyyummyyummyyummy

Hoddeuck (a Korean traditional pancake snack)

Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with cinammon filling. Not too sweet - just nice and can consider as an appetiser.

Injolmi toast (Korean rice cake)

Basically inside the toast is a Korean rice cake (made from the glutinous rice) and coated with soya bean flour. It tastes a little like the Chinese muachi with the soya bean flour replacing the peanut powder.

Banana pizza

With a very thin layer of flour and cheese, the flavouring is just nice and not too sweet either.

Korean fried chicken (boneless)

This one-person dish is sweet and salty and it smells (and tastes) really good. We ordered 2 of these because it was just too yummy!

Oreo bingsu

Though the deco looks nice, I personally think the price for the bingsu is overrated (RM10.90) as you can find desserts like this for a much cheaper price another place.

Wine bingsu

The price of this wine bingsu is even more overrated (RM13.90). The amount of wine is barely 1cm away from the bottom of the glass. huffyhuffyhuffyhuffy

To sum it all, the food at Cafe Korea is tasty with fair pricing but the desserts might be a little overrated.

This garlic seaweed fried rice is topped with salmon roe and Japanese seaweed.

It smells really good and the taste is not anything less than premium quality. yummyyummyyummy The amount of rice is generous too.

You can find this fried rice at Pat Kin Pat Sun at a promotion price of RM7.80 (original cost @RM12.60), What’s more, you get discounts if you apply for membership.

However due to the amount of people dining in, the waiting time could be a little long.

Kimchi Fried Rice Smile Jul 11, 2015
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ

So Kimchi fans, if you have not tried the Kimchi fried rice at Gangnam gimbap located at Ampang point, you’re totally missing out! madmadmad

Introduced by a die-hard fan of kimchi, I personally made a trip to Ampang point to verify the truth myself – and I was not disappointed.

Like kimchi, every mouth of rice is filled with the blast of a combination of the spicy, salty, sweet, and sour kimchi flavor. Served together with a sunny-side up, the fried rice costs RM16 (tax included) and it’s not overated! likelikelike
