Thought of going Taste Enclave for lunch today. When walking towards the direction, notice that the unit has been replaced by new restaurant named Ben-Li Kitchen. It is consist of 4 brands under one roof- Grand Harbour, Restoran 38, Kam Lun Tai and Sei Ngan Chai Pork Noodle. I have not heard of Sei Ngan Chai Pork Noodle before, wonder is this very famous?!
We were being served upon reaching, our tables was allocated near to the cashier counter therefore I can see the food preparation through the glass window.

The food menu presentable was very simple and it is printed on a A4 size paper. It is more like a flyer instead.

After placing the order, the food was served one after another. Curry Noodle RM11.30 was tried by my colleague, he comment was average.

Fish Ball Noodle RM11.30, it was ordered by my colleague. Her comment about the soup was clear and sweet.

Steamed Meatloaf with Tung Choy Rice RM11.30. It was taken by my colleague, his comment is good.

Steamed Spare Rib and Chicken Feet rice RM11.30. This is my lunch, I had waited for 20mins because of steam rice. Hmhm...worth it as it is tasty. The spare ribs and chicken feet were well marinated and rich in flavour, rice was well cooked with soy sauce drizzled on top. The portion is quite huge, I was very full after finish the rice.

Overall comment I obtained was quite positive, however little feedback about the serving utensil. The serving bowls for both
noodles were plastic material. To me it does not looks good as this is a proper restaurant with brands. Perhaps, this is the concept of it.

Dim Sum for breakfast Smile Oct 18, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Dim sum | Porridge | Private Party

Saturday morning, a non working day. Suddenly has the urge to eat Dim Sum. Looking at the clock, is 7am. Ok, lets go Jin Xuan Kuchai Lama. Expecting to reach before 8am therefore the crowd has not started. Otherwise, it will waste my time waiting for table.
As mentioned, the restaurant is only 30% occupied upon reaching. They have air-con seating area and non air-con which is just front of the restaurant. I prefer to dine with air-con.

Notice that the menu still the same as before, Im referring to 2 years back. Good, showing good sign no adjustment on pricing. Agreed?!

Quickly place the order and wait for foods to be served. As usual, beverages will be the first to serve. I have ordered King Tea RM6.50 this time.
HK Shrimp Rice Roll RM4.80 is my favourite food. It serves hot, serve together with Dried Shrimp Chilli. I like the texture of it as it is very smooth and the prawn is huge & firm too.

I have ordered one more plate of Plain Rice Roll RM4.80, two is better than one. I love the taste of the soy sauce, not too salty yet it has the fragrant of it. Indeed good!

Siew Mai RM4.50 is one of the signature Dim Sum here. Each basket of the dim sum will comes in 3 pieces. All dim sum sold here are made to order to guaranteed the freshness of the food. I like the Siew Mai here, the balance of fat and lean meat as well as prawn which give you a good mouth feel of it.

Seaweed roll RM4.50, something light. The filling  just taste similar to Siew Mai but it is wrapped with seaweed in outer part.

Stuffed Green Chili RM5.00, the green chilli has pan fried before hand prior to the steaming then serve with the thick gravy. You hardly can see stuffed green chilli in most of the stalls but red chilli which is the common version of Yong Tou Fu. Anyway, this chilli is not spicy at all.

Sticky rice lotus leaf RM4.50, pipping hot soft glutinous rice with dried shrimp. Light fragrant of lotus leaf that I can smell upon serving. Taste is just on my liking. Tasty and satisfying.

Lastly, is the Pan Fried Shanghai bao RM5.00. Thin layer of skin and generous amount of filling. The mince meat filling is very juicy and succulent. The skin was being pan fried therefore it has the "wok hee" fragrant on it. It is not oily at all. Good!

Jin Xuan Dim Sum would never dissapoint me with the food they serve. I happy with the food quality and pricing as well. I definitely will be back again. My concern is I have to wake up very early morning just to beat the queue. If really want to enjoy good food, queuing is worth it perhaps. ;-)

Specia sauce Chee Cheong Fun OK Oct 17, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Yong Tau Fu

This is one of the "Hot" stall in Imbi Wet Market selling Chee Cheong Fun. You will see a queue most of the time. Im early today, only 2
customers are ahead from me. Without wait much longer, my Chee Cheong Fun is ready.
I wanted to eat Sister Popiah as well, which located next stall. Therefore, I only picked few of my favourite such as Fish ball, Meatball, Yao Char Gui and Chee Cheong Fun. There are 3 types of sauces available here and Bean Curd sauce is the signature here follow by chilli sauce and curry. I opt for curry sauce this time.

The Chee Cheong Fun (RM6.50)portion is quite huge, please take note of this if you are a small eater also you can choose to have half portion as well. The Chee Cheong is smooth and thick which goes well with my curry sauce. I love the You Char Gui which still crispy outside soft inside. The curry sauce is getting thicker swiftly. Therefore, please finish as soon as you can.
The overall food is good, you can try the freshly stuffed Yong Tou Fu which prepare it daily.

Non halal Nasi Lemak OK Oct 17, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Nasi Lemak

Do you know Ann Nasi Lemak is one of the Openrice Top 10 Chinese Nasi Lemak? In fact, is that great that I thought. Perhaps, my expectation is too high.
The signature here is the Curry Pig Skin therefore I picked this together with Sambal Sotong. The overall coconut rice and sambal are ordinary nothing much to talk about, the condiment such as peanut, anchovies, hard boiled egg and cucumber are pretty standard.
Curry pig skin is very flavourful with thick coconut milk and curry which taste similar to curry laksa noodle. You can have a try if you like to eat pig skin.
As for the Sambal sotong is quite normal actually. Personally I feel that the sotong is a bit hard, should have cooked little bit longer.
By the way, this plate of nasi lemak cost me RM8.50. What says you?!

Delicious Hakka food Smile Oct 02, 2015
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Yong Tau Fu

They are plenty of eateries along the same street and the most serious problem is parking is extremely limited. This is my first visit to Chuan Kee and I came to know they provide jockey service which only cost you merely RM2. Without any hassle, just drive straight to the jockey parking and pass them car key then proceed to the restaurant.

I consider late today 7.30pm, as the restaurant was packed with customers. Im pretty lucky happen to have one table about to check out. Quickily placed the order and wait for the patiently.

Tick tock tick tock......20mins past finally is my turn. The first dish to serve is Yong Tau Fu which is their signature. Im quite surprise that the boss told me they have Yong Tau Fu for dinner. Usually Yong Tau Fu will be served during lunch. This is the Hakka style cooking therefore salted fish one of the ingredient which I love it very much. The fish paste was very soft and delicious. I have tried each of every the varient and I am satisfied.

Stewed mutton is their signature too. The mutton was tendered and flavourful with spices aroma such as star anis, black pepper etc. If you like mutton you should have tried this.

Stirred fried vegetable, taste was quite standard.

Wu Xi Pork Ribs 无锡排骨 is available here, quite a surprise, I had this before when I was in Wu Xi China. Did not know that is actual available in Malaysia. The taste and presentation is almost similar to the one I had in China. The Pork Ribs were braised in the thick dark sauce.

Lastly, is the Steam Fish. I did not touch the fish therefore I have no comment on this. However, looking at the appearance is appetizing guaranteed.

The portion served were generous. I did not have the itemised bill and I have no idea how much is the individual price. The total bill sum up to RM117 including chinese tea. To me, this is consider reasonable. Anyhow, is worth a visit cause the foods are delicious!
