All You Can Eat Pizza  OK Jul 31, 2013

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Halal

We were sick of the canteen food in campus. So if we have long break time after class, we would go out and hunt for some nicer food. We were considering of to eat pizza and we have decided to eat at Papa John's Pizza because my friend said that they do provide students promotion. However when we reached there, the branch doesn't seem to have that promotion. So we were discussing and calculating the prices of the food. The staff was patiently waiting for us and explain to us about other combo meals. At last we decided to have 2 lunch sets and 2 buffet sets to share. We asked the staff are we allowed to order in that way, and that staff seems like hinting us to order only one set of buffet. So at last we ordered 1 buffet (RM15.90++) and 2 lunch sets (RM9.90++) to be shared among 4 people. (Buffet only available at selected outlets only.)

Each lunch set includes one soup, one carbonated drink, and one main dish. Each buffet set includes all you can eat SELECTED pizza and one carbonated drink.
Mushroom Soup

Mushroom Soup

The mushroom soup is quite nice, compared to Pizza Hut's, it's thicker and creamier.
Baked Papa's Special Pasta

Baked Papa's Special Pasta

The Baked Papa's Special Pasta is quite poor as the pasta is tasteless and sauce is very insufficient. The cheese also very less that it's doesn't even cover the whole surface of the bowl and baked it, causing the pasta becomes even drier.

The Pizza Pocket is even more disappointing me because it's totally different with what I ate in other branch. I guess the dough is baked at too high temperature causing the dough to be quite tough and the cheese inside is not melted. Furthermore, there is no sauce inside, cause the ingredients inside to be so dry. I can only eat it with the special garlic sauce.

For the buffet, it's not really sufficient for a few tables of customers at a same time. We have to wait and scramble to get the pizza because they only serve 1 -2 pizza at a time. I think that if the company if really wants to make this promotion, please do it nicely.

It's so hard to get a parking at Sunway Pyramid, especially on weekends. I have been looking for a parking for more than half an hour. I have visited once one of its branch at Setia City Mall and I found that the food are quite not bad. So I recommended this restaurant to my friends to celebrate one of my friend's birthday here because besides the food here, the environment is also very good. The capacity of this branch is much more bigger than Setia City Mall's branch. Luckily I reserved the seats few days earlier because every tables were fully booked when I arrived there.

Based on my previous experience, I found that the pasta of this restaurant are always better than their other food comparatively. So I tried out their pasta again. This time I ordered a Beef Bacon Carbonara Spaghetti (RM18.90+).

I would give this dish 4.5/5 if it has more sauce, because the sauce is just fairly enough for the whole plate of pasta. The sauce isn't really same as what I ate at other restaurants, the sauce is quite thick so it's suitable for those who prefer heavier taste people. I also tasted the Chicken Pesto Pasta (RM14.90+) of my friends.

The dish is a more healthier dish than other kind of sauce, yet the taste of mint is quite strong, isn't really acceptable by me.

I also ordered to Mushroom Soup (RM6.90+).

This is quite nice for for me because I could really taste the real mushroom taste inside, yet this is quite subjective because some people might prefer those more creamy mushroom soup like those canned mushroom soup.

I ordered a Mango Yogurt (RM8.90+) because of the thumb sign printed on the menu and I always prefer sour drinks than sweet drinks. This drink is just right for me as it hits the balance between sweetness and sourness.

*I would suggest the restaurant to provide a REAL VEGETARIAN MENU. As 1 of my friend is vegetarian, and the staff said anything can be vegetarian upon request. So my friend ordered a VEGETARIAN PASTA and emphasized not to put garlic and onion, yet the food served still contains garlic. So we requested to have another plate, then they served him one with no garlic but with Bacon inside. How ridiculous it is?! So my friend approached to the chef directly. The chef asked my friend : How about chicken powder? Hey, VEGETARIAN !

All food are subject to 10% service charge.

They also provide some special costume for customers to take photo at their restaurant. (Some charges maybe applied)

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Bak Kut Teh

Bah Kut Teh is the Hokkien name of 肉骨茶 which means meat, bone and tea but actually it's a dish of which the pork and bone cooked with chinese herbs. This dish has already been in Malaysia since very long ago and became one of the most famous dish in Malaysia nowadays, especially in Klang area. It's one of the must try dish for foreign tourists. Many people from other cities come to Klang purposely just to taste the Bak Kut Teh here.

Here I'm going to review about the 宝香绑线肉骨茶. This restaurant has over 10 branches over Klang and KL area, and even at Singapore. The meat is tied with a cotton string and cooked. The purpose of the string is to keep the herbal taste inside the meat, and to extract the excessive fat of the meat at the same time.

The signature meat of this restaurant is their 招牌肉 which somehow like 三层肉, but the skin of this part is more chewy. However, this dish and 排骨 usually finishes quite early. So if want to try these please go earlier. Besides that, 大骨,小骨 and 五花肉 are my favorites all the time. They also have organs like intestine and stomach. However, we cannot request to add a lot of soup because this is a franchise restaurant, so their soup are quite limited.

This restaurant does not serve food in claypot like what other restaurants do, because they have a concept that is to keep the traditional culture of the food. One of the specialty of this restaurant is that they only use JiGong bowls (鸡公碗)and has a slogan of One Bowl of Bak Kut Teh, One Bowl of Rice.

Each bowl of meat RM11+ (except signature meat, 招牌肉 RM14+)

88 Steamboat is a buffet concept steamboat restaurant. It's just located within the walking distance of AEON Jusco Bandar Baru Klang. The specialty of this restaurant is that they provide customers 3 types of cooking methods. Except steamboat, we can also grill the food on tinfoil besides the pot or bbq the food. This restaurant has been running their business since many many years ago. The price has also gone up over time from RM23.80 until now RM26.80. In last few years, they also opened a branch at Bandar Bukit Tinggi. Both of them are also always crowded with people, especially.

This restaurant provides many kinds of food ranging from seafood such as clams, mud crabs, big prawns, stingray fish and many more. It also provides assorted balls, fish paste food, sausages, noodles and vegetables. For the meats, it has chicken, lamb and beef which come in 3 flavors, curry, black pepper, and original. These are perfect to be grilled on the tinfoil. While the chicken wings are suitable to used for barbecue. There is another specialty of this restaurant that it also provides live prawns, but I was just too lazy to struggle with the prawns, because the prawns they serve are fresh enough and the size is even bigger than the alive one. However the freshness of other shellfish are just normal. Besides these food, it also serves cooked food such as curry, fried rice, fried meehoon and some clams, seafood, fried chicken wings and etc. Of course not to forget to have some desserts after finishing the meal. There around 10 types of ice cream to choose from and some fruits.

I didn't really capture a lot of photos of food because I was too eager to get the food, and I was using naked hands to peel the skin of prawns and too lazy to wash hands just to take photos.

Overall the food here are quite fresh, especially the big prawns are my favorite all the time. However, customers here are usually expected to get the body sweat and the clothes fulled with the smell of oil and smoke.

Mix Sauce Spaghetti Smile Jul 21, 2013

In House Cafe is one of my favorite to hangout because the variety of food they serve is quite many and the price is quite reasonable too.

I ordered a Mixed Sauce Seafood Spaghetti (RM13.90+).
Mix Sauce Seafood Spaghetti

The portion of cheese is quite generous to cover the whole bowl of spaghetti which sometimes I can't get in some restaurants. Inside this dish got mussels, crabsticks, and some shrimps. The freshness of mussel is ok, but the shrimps aren't quite fresh, the flesh isn't firm. Besides that, I would actually prefer squid instead of crabstick as it's what so called the real "seafood". This dish is quite special to mix 2 different sauces in a single dish. The white sauce is carbonara sauce. The sauce is quite creamy, yet won't greasy eating it. The red sauce tastes quite like oriental sauce but not the normal bolognese sauce that we usually eat. For me, this dish has actually 3 sauces when you mix the 2 sauces together. The taste is quite nice too.

Overall, the food here are quite nice. However, I found that the staffs here mostly look quite listless.

All food are subject to 10% of service tax.
