Intérieur Café, a cosy and chic café located in bukit indah. It was slightly inaccessible for patrons who are trying to take public transport. The café was really great hangout place to chill and enjoy high tea.

It was located at the end of road at the turning point. You would not miss this café as the signage was huge and the black exterior was stood out from the rest of the shophouses.

Upon entering, you will be amazed by the wall art. The first thing you see at the service counter was this fridge with cakes being displayed within. There aren’t much choices but the rainbow cake stood out due to its vibrant colours.

We ordered a rainbow cake and a Japanese green tea cake (cake of the month) to share. Each of us orders a drink (First Love and Rose Latte).

Japanese Green Tea cake was recommended by the staff as it was the cake of the month. I must say, it taste and look the same as the Red Bean Cake I have eaten in . It tastes really moist and sweet. The red bean sandwiched between the sponge cakes were really too sweet for the likely. The plus point for this cake is the rich matcha taste.

The rainbow cake really looks appealing due to the vibrant colours. The serving was huge and the cake was soft and spongy. I love the texture of the cake. However, It would be better if the cake was a little less sweet. We love this cake more than the Japanese green tea cake.

First Love, was the name of my latte. It sound so dreamy and romantic. The taste of the latte kind of lives up to its name. The latte has a very light fruity after taste. It resembles the feeling of being in our first love especially that puppy love where there are sweet little moments during the relationship.

I did not take a photo of the Rose Latte as it looks the same. It cost RM 11.90. It was a mixture of Bandung and latte, which give a sweet smelling rose taste.

DIRECTION TO THE CAFE

If you are looking for a decent café for chilling and high tea, you can consider Intérieur Café for its cosy environment and decently good latte. Although the cakes were a little too sweet for our likely, the texture of the cakes was good.

FIRST CATS CAFE IN JB OK May 19, 2016

Categories : Malaysian variety | Western variety | Restaurant

Café-hopping has been the talk of town for quite a few months now and cafes of all kinds and themes have been sprouting up in Singapore. This café craze has finally reach JB. If you find it too boring to just have high tea, why not visit the cat café for a brand new experience - an experience to enjoy cuddling the furry creatures while drinking high tea.

The cats café is the first cat café to be opened in Johor Bahru. It carries the theme of “Cats At Their Sanctuary” where you can join playing with café while having meal in the café. This cat café was situated in the residential area as it was converted from a mansion to a café.

Upon entering the place, all the staffs greet you with super friendly smile and guide you to your seat. Furthermore, they will explain some cat rules in the café to you so that you can have fun in the café without hurting any cats unintentionally.Rules For the Cafe

The cats are all fluffy and cute. Love the fact that this cat cafe actually has rules to make sure customers are protected from cat scratches and also the safety of our bags.

The atmosphere in the cafe is super cosy and spacious to allow cats and visitors to roam around.

This cat café also sell food for the customers to fill their tummy. We order waffle and pizza to fill our tummy and play with the cats while waiting. The menu and even the cushion covers were also in cute cats pictures to go with the theme. Cute Menu

Time to enjoy the food~

Cats Signature Waffle (RM 15.90) – To be honest, it was not to my liking due to the artificial taste of the strawberry syrup and chocolate syrup used. Furthermore, I find the cake soft but lag the fluffiness which makes it very “gelat” after some bites. The waffle tends to be very dry towards the end. However, I do appreciate the effort by the owner to make this waffle very pretty and instagram worthy.

Hawaiian Pizza (RM 19.90) - It taste fairly decent with thin crust and generous serving of ham and pineapple slices. Even the toilet was cute.

To conclude, I would not go to this cats café for the food. But will definitely re-visit this place for the cute companion (cats) and the cosy environment to be in lol

Incredible Beautiful Ice Cream OK May 19, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Café | Ice Cream / Froyo / Gelato

In look for pretty ice-cream? Visit this ice-cream palor for a beautiful tasting experience.

Lis gelato which stands of "LOVE IS SIMPLE" serves incredible beautiful ice cream " Love is simple" which cost about RM 12 for one scoop with crispy cotton candy or RM20 for two scoop. I'm am sure many girl falls for this ice cream upon looking at the photos. The crispy cotton candy was basically rose meringue.

But to be honest, it only look nice, the ice cream was really disappointing as it was way too milky and "wet" where it melts too quickly.

Love is simple (RM 12.90)

Single Scoop Taro Ice-cream (RM 9)

I believe it is worth only once to take the photo, but i would not visit again.

M2escape = Escape Room + Mickey Cafe

Bored at night? Finding a hangout place with your buddies? M2escape is the place to be. It is the cafe for you to chill and play with board games. If the board games are not challenging enough, why not be slightly more ambitious, join in their escape room. Escape room are basically adventure games where participants are locked in a room. You have to solve a series of games, puzzle and finding of clues to aid you to escape from the room in a given time limit.

We are not adventurous enough so we are satisfied with just having our high tea in this mickey themed cafe after visiting the 22 Korea Fried Chicken Factory (read more). It is located at the newshop areas at Mount Austin. You need to be on a lookout for it as it is located at the 2nd storey. Alternatively, you can plot your way to "DISTRICT 7" as it is situated opposite from the cafe. You will realise that it is beside 7 eleven store.

After parking our car, we have to walk up the stairs to the 2nd storey. Their entrance was locked, so you will need to wait a minute for the staff to click their auto gate for entrance. The cafe can definitely satisfy mickey lovers as the wall are decorated with mickey wall art. Even the menu, cakes and drink cups are also in line with the theme.

It was too crowded for us to take a photo of the surrounding. But i managed to find this photo online.

The soft toy at the sofa

We look through the cute menu and finally decide on the Opera Cake (RM15.90), Tiramisu (RM12.90), strawberry yogurt (RM6.90) and matcha latte (RM9.90). We did not order those milk drink which enable us to use the special mickey cup, neither did we order tea set which comes with disney teapot. But I went over to other customers that order and request to take a photo of their cute teacup/ teapot.Cute menu which is in-line with their Disney theme

The entire place was very children-friendly where boxes of board games where provided. There are also wall-arts painted. Which waiting for your food, why not take some selfies.

I am attracted by the decoration of the place. However, food has always been my priority. Thus, I was hoping that the food would take extraordinary. But I was kind of disappointed by it.

The Coffee Tiramisu (RM 15.90) comes with a scoop fo vanilla ice-cream and a slice of tiramisu cake. This café has another flavor to choose – Matcha tiramisu. But somehow, I feel that tiramisu tasted the best in its original flavor, thus I order the coffee Tiramisu. The vanilla ice-cream was yummy, but it melts in my mouth too quickly and disappears. It is slightly milkier and you can still taste bits of vanilla beans in the ice-cream. As for the cake
itself, it was served cold. In fact, I believe it was frozen before being served. The spongy cake was moist with creamy mascarpone and espresso – liquer. It was really tasty.

The opera cake (RM 12.90) comes with a layer of chocolate fudge on the top layer. The cakes are then layered with cream in between. It was slightly sweet to my liking. Nothing fancy about this chocolate cake, as the cake layer was tad dry and hard.

The opera cake lack the “chocolate taste”, apart from the top layer of thin chocolate fudge, it taste more of a usual buttercream cake. It could have been better if it was served cold enough. RM12.90 for this cake was slightly pricey to me because the satisfaction I get from this cake is somewhat similar to the RM3 buttercream cake that I can get from normal bakery store. With the same price, I can even get 4 slices. But I believe that the effort to decorate the cake, helps to increase customer experience in this cafe. OF course, for people who prefer drier cake, this maybe suitable for you.

Despite the food standard falling below my expectation, I do believe that this place is worth-going due to it s pretty interior , the pretty Disney theme food as well as the ability to play board games & escape room games.

D'Art Cafe 艺术咖啡馆 claimed to be “the one and only cafe with art and nature concept in malaysia.” It was not hard to find café which integrate art or nature element but to have both integrated, it was seldom seen. It was opened in June 2013 in Kulai , which was along the same stretch of road along Tesco.

It was true that the café integrate nature like bamboo and art pieces in the café, it was slightly over to claim that it is the one and only café with art and nature concept as the element of nature was not really fully integrated. The bamboo shoot was place outside the dining area, so the diners do not really get the opportunity to immerse themselves in the nature.

Tocreate an environment to resemble nature, wood furniture was being used. Colourful
menu board and decoration helps to create a more artsy vibe.

But I do admit that the place was really cooling due to the natural sunshade from the trees. The decoration was simple yet cosy. The staff service was awesome become the moment we enter, the staff warmly introduce the food and the place to us.

D’art Café not only serve light snacks and coffee, they serve pretty cakes as well.As we have already eaten breakfast, we are here for cakes instead.

While waiting for our cake to be served, we enjoy looking at the art pieces around the
café. We have order the Japan Green Tea & Red Bean Cake as well as Tea w
Honey Lemon.

The nature and arts being incorporated in the outdoor seating area.

Enjoying the quietness among busyness while enjoying hi-tea, it is definitely something
one can enjoy the most.

Japan Green Tea & Red Bean Cake (RM 10.90) & Tea w Honey Lemon (RM 9)

The green tea cake was moist and fluffy. It was layered with sweet red bean paste. This makes us feel like we are eating “tau sau bao (red bean bun).” This is because the red bean paste has similar texture with that of the paste of the bun. You can’t really feel the beans. It was pretty nice eating it.

After munching the cake, the sweetness continues to retain in the mouth. A cup of tea could help to neutralized it. The lemon tea was served with a packet of honey and a peanut butter biscuit. The honey was not too sweet thus even after adding a whole packet, the taste was just right.

It was a pleasure spending my morning here, enjoying the arts and food. Visitors who are in kulai area can drop by and enjoy this place. It was really accessible.
