The Dining Area

The outlet here is very crowded. Being a group of 10, we have to wait for 30 minutes and separated into 2 different booth seat tables with a wall between us.

Triple Dipper (RM29.95++)
A combo of 3 favourite appetizers - chicken crispers, wings over buffalo, and southwestern eggrolls with sauces for dipping.
The eggroll does not taste like egg to me with its too thick skin. Feels that the wings are not spicy enough.

Cajun Chicken Sandwich (RM21.95++)
Spicy, Cajun style grilled chicken breast with Swiss cheese, Jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, pickle and ancho-chile ranch dressing, topped with crispy onion strings.
The serving is quite huge. The chicken breast tastes a bit dry and tasteless to me.

Grilled Chicken Salad (RM25.95++)
Grilled chicken with cheese, tomatoes, black beans, corn relish and honey-lime vinaigrette.
It is a huge serving and tastes quite refreshing.

Kids Meal (RM7.95++)

Gorilla Cheese Sandwich
Chip goes ape over the grilled cheese and homestyle fries.
Bottomless Beverages come with all kid's meal.
KIDS EAT FREE with a main course.
It is a simple and tasty sandwich.

Bottomless soft drinks and fruit juice from RM6.95 to RM8.95.
If you drinks alot, you will like the system here, as one gets to try all the drinks at a fixed price.

Overall the servings of the food is huge. Quite difficult to get the attention of the staffs, especially when one is calling for staffs to refill the drinks. There is a lot of staffs around, but they all seem to be waiting for instructions on what to do next. Especially most seem to be following a senior one all over the place.

The 24 hour cafe is located just next to the hotel lobby. Quite a selection in the menu. There is Ren Qi Lunch Set which is served from 11am - 3pm.

Old Fashion "Loh Swee Fun" (RM10.90) from the Ren Qi Lunch Set menu.
Feel that the noodles is not flavourful enough.

Served with Borsch Soup and a choice of drink (Jasmine Tea, Lemon Tea, Lemon Honey, Barley Lemon).
The soup is lukewarm and quite watery.

Also have Pork Lean & Century Egg Porridge (RM4.80) from the main menu.
Quite plain and light in taste.

Rice Noodle Roll with BBQ Pork and Prawn (RM6.50).
Feel that the skin is a bit too thick and lack of silky texture.

Overall service is quite fast. Food is average. Well valued.

The cafe is decorated in a wooden look. The buffet breakfast here is served from 6.30am to 10.30am. The variety is limited, but still acceptable.

There is chicken sausages, baked bean, hash browns, sliced breads,and buns with a roller toaster.

For local food, there is coconut flavoured rice, curry chicken, fried eggs and the makings for a nasi lemak dish. For those prefer something plain, there is plain porridge with pickled vegetables. For Indian food, there is roti prata, and vegetable curry. As the roti prata is pre-made, it is a bit tough in texture.

There is also cornflakes, cut fruits, coffee, tea and even hot milk (which one seldom see these days).

Tea Time OK Apr 10, 2014

The cafe is very popular and is usually quite crowded. Besides the outlet, there is also various outlets all over Malaysia. The cafe sells Hong Kong style cafe food.

Five Spice Abalone Mushroom (RM6.80)
Quite crispy and nice.

Lotus Seed Red Bean Sherbet (RM8.20)
The drink is very thick and creamy.

Egg in Boiled Almond Tea (RM4.90)
A bit disappointed in this drink, as it just a raw egg in lukewarm almond tea. The almond tea is lacking in flavour too.

Boiled Coke with Ginger (Hot) (RM4.40)
This is the worst of all, as it is just warm coke with a few slices of ginger. I once have a glass of coke that has boiled with lots of shredded ginger, it is so flavourful that the ginger has soaked the coke flavour.

Overall it is a place for relax but not a place for good food.

Dinner OK Apr 10, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

This restaurant is with popular with the residents staying nearby and the family has advance booked a table with pre ordered dishes. But due to some mis-communication, dishes that are suppose to vegetarian, turns out to non vegetarian. So remember to double check with the staff before the food is cooked. By the way we start having our meal before the dinner crowd comes in. So in the end order another 3 vegetarian dishes.

We start with yu sheng where everyone has fun tossing the dishes together. When this dish is served, I am disappointed the staff does not pour the sauces and says the good luck words for this dish. It is expected for this to be done when this dish is served in Singapore, from zhi char stall to high class restaurant. In the olden days when the staff said the good luck word, she may receive tips in  form of red packet from customer. A thumb down for the service. Another thing which I noticed in this dish is the green and red coloured sides should be red and green coloured dye shredded ginger. Not sure why that are not served. Overall the taste does not seem tangy enough.

The dishes are served almost all at the same time which could barely fit in the big table. The tofu with pumpkin sauce is very unique, which has a sweet and tasty taste. The steamed chicken which looks rather dry, is quite tender and well flavoured. Overall the dishes are really good, but the service is a no-no.
