Kebab @ Summit USJ OK Sep 27, 2012

After a light lunch at Summit USJ recently, I did not feel full enough, so I thought of having a snack to fill me up.

As I was lingering at the LG floor of Summit USJ, I came across a stall called Kebab Turki Baba Rafi.
I ordered the beef shawarma, which I admit was an influence from The Avengers.

The shawarma was made right in front of me, so I cannot complain that it was pre-made. However, upon the first bite it was not that good. The beef was actually not carved right out of the block of meat at the stove when I ordered, but it was carved earlier already.

This makes the beef slices cold, and slightly tough too. Apart from the beef, it also has some vegetables and onions in the wrap.

The shawarma was only OK, but I've tasted better.

Lemon aiyu jelly drink OK Sep 27, 2012

Aiyu Jelly drink

Aiyu Jelly drink

There were a few interesting choice of drinks being advertised on the walls of the restaurant. Such as the roselle drink and the lemon aiyu jelly drink. I thought the lemon aiyu looks interesting so I ordered it. It has layers of jelly and the taste was quite zesty. The chunks of aiyu was very nice to munch on. The drink itself was sweet and sour. It's a refreshing drink on a hot day.

Bitter gourd noodles OK Sep 27, 2012

Bittergourd noodles

Bittergourd noodles

From the pork noodles stall, there sell not only pork noodles but also bitter gourd noodles. So I decided to try it out. Surprisingly, there were alot of condiments to go with the noodles. I was given chunks of taufu, tomatoes, minced pork and big pieces of bitter gourd. It was quite nice. The bitter gourd has a distinctive taste but its not bitter. The soup was refreshing as a whole.

Ma Lat Pan Mee OK Sep 25, 2012

Ma Lat Pan Mee

Ma Lat Pan Mee

Famed for their ma lat(numbing spicy) type of pan mee, I decided to try it out. It took them 3 rounds to serve 3 of us... The noodles texture is soft and nicely cooked. The gravy was also very appetizing. But it wasn't as spicy as they claimed. It was ok spicy, not numbing spicy. They give quite a fair bit of minced meat and mushrooms and top with a bowl of soup with fish balls, which were not bad as well.

Fried yong taufu OK Sep 25, 2012

Fried yong taufu

Fried yong taufu

The yong taufu stall has an array of selection. The lady was always in a hurry to finish off another order. Maybe this rushed me to choose my choice of yong taufu. In the end, I chose mostly the fried stuff. They taste crunchy and fresh although a bit on the oily side. The meat was thick and flavourful. The sauce that came with it was quite nice especially the chili sauce. The sweet sauce was watery and doesn't really go well with the fried yong taufu.
