Last Friday, I met up with my good friend LULU, she just moved down to KL and i wanted to bring her out for some nice food. Since she is staying in Kuchai Lama, i decided to bring her to eat Chicken Hot pot located in Kuchai Entrepreneur Park.

When we reach around 8pm, its already quite packed.
Indoor

This picture is the indoor seating and the below is the outdoor seating. The restaurant is not very big and has not much tables and chairs.
Ourdoor

we prefer to sit outside as it is more cooling, inside is a bit stuffy and normally you will need to share tables with other customers. As you can see from the picture, the table and chairs are quite simple, they use the steal ones where normally the mamak uses for out door seating.

One bad thing about this restaurant is, the menu is fully in mandarin. If you do not know chinese, may be you can just ask help from the waitress. There are a few types of hot pot you can choose from. There is chicken, pork, beef, fish and prawns. most of the choices comes in 3 sizes that is small, medium and large.

From the name chicken Hot Pot, we know that its surely spicy! you can even choose the level of spiciness for your hot pot. We ordered the large beef hot pot, since Becks dun really can take spicy, so we ordered the minimal hot one=)

This is the stand to place the clay pot. Later on they will place a small fire under the pot to make sure the food is always pippin hot.

Our hot pot is finally serve! As you can see from the photo, the portion is quite big. The beef is serve with other ingredients such as carrots, celery, parsley, white radish and onions. normally when they serve the gravy is thicker and spicy. Later on you can add soup to make it less thick. The soup too comes in spicy and non spicy versions. tongue The soup is very flavorful with very thick beef aroma. Do remember to bring extra tissue box as you will be needing it after drinking the spicy soup!mad

This is another picture of the clay pot on top of the fire stand. See the gravy is so pippin hot where it is still boiling. The beef is very tender. the other vegetables are also cooked till tender. Its like a all in one pot, with meat and vegetables. For some people who wan to eat more, the restaurant actually sells uncooked meatball, mushrooms, vegetables ranges from rm1-4 for you to add in your hot pot. Its like eating steamboat where you can also add in other ingredients. I would recommend to try the beef, very tender and juicy!

This is another review of Tian Tian lai Restaurent. I visit this restaurant aka food court quite often as i love their marmite chicken, its near my house and it is affordable. Lately, there is a change of ordering system going on, the Chinese owner no longer take orders and the foreign workers take orders now. They do not have menu last time and now they have printed menus for customer to order food more conveniently.

Due to the jam in front of summit, i was super late for the dinner and my friend ordered 1st. When the food came, to her surprise, they served the wrong chicken dish. The workers must have heard wrongly and my friend does not speak Cantonese either and my marmite chicken became butter chicken.
just okay

just okay

it is basically fried chicken covered with friend egg strips with butter. It has a strong amora of the butter and the chicken is crispy. The key to this dish is the curry leaves and have an exotic scent will bring out the rich fragrance of the butter. But to my disappointment, the chicken is tasteless and very oily.

Next we ordered Hot plate Toufu with egg. Becareful of this dish as it is serve on the very hot hotplate. Toufu were cut into squares and deep fried. A sauce of mince meat and egg are poured over the toufu. The sauce is nice when eat with white rice.

last would be greens. Stir fry romaine lettuce is always my fav. Crunchy lettuce just simply fry with garlic slices with a dash of oil.

Would not order the butter chicken, i still prefer marmite chicken.

i've heard from one of my friend Tau Fu Lou, that there is a nice pork pizza in KL. So one day i suggested to my work colleague to try out this pork pizza. They currently have a shop in Damansara but they do have delivery service too.

So we looked through their website, http://skippyspizza.com/ all orangy in colour, makes you so hungry! So we decided to order 2 large pizza for rm58. In Tau fu Lou's blog, he suggested to try out Marc's special and meat lover, so we ordered this 2.

We waited around 45mins and finally the pizza delivery guy is here.

2 big box of the pizza!

Meat Lover- Pork Bacon, Pork Ham, Pork Pepperoni, Minced Pork and BBQ sauce
Like the name meat lover, is filled with all kinds of pork! The pizza is thin crust, like the ones in dominos, but this is not crunchy and crispy like Dominos. when we eat it its still very hot so all the cheese is still soft. I don't quite like this one, because its too MEATY for me. The smell of the pork its too strong and it over powers the whole pizza.

however, i love the next one, that's Marc's special.
Marc’s Special- Pork Ham, Baby Spinach, Mushrooms, Garlic and Egg

i love the vege, mushrooms and there is a herb smell makes the whole pizza a perfection. you might think its weird with the egg in the middle but its actually quite nice. just a little soggy in the middle cause out the egg white.

Comes with 2 types of sauce. Chilli and garlic oil. both are very nice, but oily. I love the garlic one as it brings out the 'uump' of the pizza! but beware you will have garlic breath for the rest of your daymad

Love it, will try out other choices next time!

I've only came here once and this is the 2nd time dining here.

After that, we walked around Pavilion wondering where to eat. I am really hungry at that time, that was my 1st meal of the day. We decided to dine in Din Tai Fung. On a Saturday, around 5.30, Din Tai Fung is packed with people. We have to wait around 15 mins only we got our table.

Since i am so so so hungry, i ordered a lot today. The last time i came, was a weekday and they serve set lunch. However today only ala cart was available. They gave us a copy of the menu to have a look before we are seated. They also gave u a paper to tick what items you want to order.
By the time we are seated, we can immediately pass the order slip to the waiter to make the ordering process faster.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is bright and clean. All the design and decorations are very shanghainese. The staff there are very cheerful and helpful.

We ordered the appraiser Shanghainese Drunken Chicken

We were surprise this is serve cold. It is a piece of drumstick, sort of flatten and steam before being chilled. I thin they have prepared this dish a while ago, the chicken meat and skin its a bit hard a bit chewy. It has a nice aroma of the rice wine. I don't really favor this dish as it is cold.
Next we ordered the dumpling soup.

They serve a very big portion of dumpling. All of the dumplings are big and juicy. the pork meat inside is very flavorful. the soup is the normal clear soup, but its has a dash of pepper in the soup to make it spicy and yet flavorful.

We ordered another soup that is the braise beef soup. This soup is delicious. They have another that is serve with La mian, but i do not want to have so much carbs, i ordered the soup one. It comes with braise beef and vege. The beef stock is thick and with a strong beef aroma. They must have boil the soup for a very long time. There is a lot of big pieces of beef meat , very satisfying.

Last, We of course ordered the famous Xiao Long Pau. Din Tai Fung have a lot of variety of Xiao Long Pau. We ordered the original Xiao Long Pau. The skin of the Xiao Long pau is thin, when u bite into it, the soup of the xiao long pau oozes out to your mouth. After sucking the soup out, dip it with vinegar and ginger and finish off with one whole mouth. Superb!

Few weeks ago i was introduce this authentic Chinese restaurant by a friend from China. he confidently told us ( a gang of friends) That this restaurant is selling original, authentic China food=)

This restaurant is located in Sunway Mentari, it's at the corner lot. They use a lot of wooden table and chairs and there are very big red lanterns hanging as decorations. It gives you a very chinese atmosphere.

My friend came here so many times and he say it is very affordable as they serve set lunch. There are a variety of rice, noodles and even steam bun's set to choose from.

I ordered strips of chicken with bell peppers. I don't really know how to translate the actual name as this set is not in the set menu. My friend suggested this, so i tried it out. The set comes with Rice, the stir fry chicken with bell peppers, soup, and a drink. The free drink would be herbal tea but you can choose to pay more and get a glass of organic home made soya drink for RM1 or freshly squeeze watermelon juice for RM2.

They serve a very big portion of rice and there is a big for tion of chicken and bell peppers too. The sauce is a bit sweet and spicy. When you eat together with the bell peppers it gives you the "kick"! The soup is a clear soup that contains egg, tomato, cucumber and seaweed. Basically you only can taste the seaweed taste.

I love their organic Soya drink and they serve with separate sugar syrup. This way you can customize how sweet you want your drink to be. Frankly speaking, the syrup is not very sweet either, as you will need to pour around half a bottle only you find the drink a little bit sweet.

We ordered another drink that is boil dumplings. ( or direct translate 'water cooked dumplings')

The dumplings comes with 2 fillings, one is with celery another without. They serve with vinegar and ginger. The skin of the dumplings are just nice, not too think or thin, the meat n vege in the dumplings are soft and when you eat with the vinegar it gives you the tangy taste. Comes 8 pieces per plate.
