Yam Basket OK Jul 20, 2012

Yeah... My favor... Yam Basket... I'm here served with the Yam Basket(佛钵) where the texture is crispy at the outside and served with the mixed vegetables (mixed veggie like baby corns, snow peas, black fungus) and some cashewnuts together with it. The flavor just delicious and ngam ngam nice. If you are a yam lover, perhaps this is the dish you would fall in love with.

Mee Sua + sam bui gai OK Jul 19, 2012

This restaurant is a master for fine Taiwanese food and of course one of the Taiwan signature food is the Taiwan Pig Intestine Mee Sua 台湾大肠面线 (RM 9.80). The mee sua was cooked in the delicious thick broth with pig intestine. Love the intense flavour of it and of course the way they served the food!

sam bui gai" or "三杯鸡" (RM 19.80), the combination of a cup of sesame oil, a cup of Chinese cooking wine and a cup of light soy sauce created a great and thick flavour for this dish and i love the hint of Thai basil leaves in it. Imagine adding some thick gravy from the chicken dish and the piece of tasty chicken.. yum yum

I could still remember my first time having the Char Koay Teow at Kedai Kopi Sin Hwa opposite the Pulau Tikus police station. It was particularly memorable due to the non-existant parking space (near to market).
And of course, the Char Koay Teow is kind of special too, as it comes with squids and you have the option of ‘upgrading’ it to a duck egg version for extra 50 cents.
Instead of relying on the seafood sweetness achieved by using huge prawns, Sin Hwa’s Char Koay Teow is red hot, which focuses more on wok hei and spiciness – the oomph factor. And not to mention cheaper too compared to those selling at a crazy price of RM7-RM10 per plate.

Here, pancakes are eaten all day instead of being just a breakfast and they come with various toppings including minced beef, honey, fried eggs, banana and walnut. One of the sets (tea or coffee included) here is a combo of two of their signature food – Floating Chicken Pie in Green Pea Soup and Banana Walnut Pancake. The chopped crunchy walnuts give a contrasting texture to the soft pancakes and the syrup and banana slices provide the sweet flavor. It tasted as good as it looked, more like a dessert actually.

We

tried the Hainanese Chicken Pie which is specially made. The hainanese Chicken pie is where the tiny cute bowl is being inserted with the stew chicken with the delicious gravy and some potatoes and carrot inside. The outside is cover with the crispy crust and the taste is very nice and authentic. The combination was great and the chicken meat is very nice and being absord with all the gravy taste.
Price: RM 20.00++
