Final dish arrived, Braised Pork Belly with Yam, small portion cost RM29.00 and large portion cost RM52.00 before tax. It served with sliced cucumbers and baby tomato. Love the tastetongue. Done it very well. The pork belly and yam were both braised so well that the gravy was completely absorbed into it. The pork belly was first roasted before it was braised with the yam that made it more delectable. brilliant!tongue

The third dish arrived was Stewed peanuts with lotus root soup, cost RM10.00 before tax. I found a few red dates and chicken meat in the soup that made the whole soup tasty and delicious. We both enjoyed this tasty soup very much. We have not comment on the chicken meat and the lotus root as we did not eat any of that. We finished drink the bowl of the soup only. Certainly will order this item again.

Braised bean curd with minced pork in hot pot, small size cost RM22.00, large size cost RM39.00 before tax. That was the second dish arrived immediately after our salted fish fried rice was served.

In fact, this dish is Chef's recommendation. I just recalled that when this dish was served to us, I did not recall there was a raw egg, as shown in their F & B menu. The bean curd was smooth and soft while the minced meat was just ordinary. We chose to pour the braised bean curb into our fried rice that looked completely wet. We finished the whole dish as it is light and not too filling for us. In terms of the taste, it was quite tasteless.

They served the drinks quite immediate. But serving food was slow despite it was just 35% full house during lunch hours on weekend. We waited for at least 20-30 minutes for the first dish to arrive.

We were thinking of trying something different, hence, decided to order Salty Fish Fried Rice with seafood, cost RM17.90 before tax. The fried rice was considered simple and kind of not worth the money if talking about the quality of the ingredients used. There were, deep fried salted fish, bitten eggs fried rice, seafood was just a few big shrimps and spring onions. The portion was for one person. In terms of the taste, it was comparatively same standard, quality and taste with a local Chinese restaurant.

I just wonder, how did they determine the price of RM17.90?

We have been visiting this Ying Ker Lou Hakka Cuisine (迎客楼客家料理) many times. Recently we returned again and found that they have no longer claimed MSG free that they used to put on one on every floor staff's uniform. Strange! sad

Any way, that would not stop us from having our lunch there. We ordered sugar cane with water chestnut, cost RM6.00 before tax. In terms of the price of this particular simple to prepare and low cost drinks, this is considered steep.

In terms of the taste, it was a bit diluted that caused it tasteless and the quality has dropped a little as I only found a few tiny water chestnut in the drinks.
