Ginger fried rice, cost RM6.90 before tax. Currently this particular dish is on promotion, offering 50% discount till end of Aug 2012.

This dish was recommended by my sister who had tried and found it was really mouthwatering. Hence, I went, I personally find, the taste of the fried rice served on that day was not what my sister has described to me that was smell and tasted of the strong ginger. The fried rice served with sliced gingers, sliced carrots and bitten eggs. Overall of the fried rice taste a bit sweet, a bit oily and a bit of the frying aroma only. Improvement is required.sad

One fine day, we were introduced by a friend to visit an old restaurant which is good in Steamed Fish Head. As we arrived before 7pm, we discovered a few other interesting restaurants located in the same street with diners at that hour. At that moment, one of which is Chuan Kee Hakka Restaurant (泉記客家) which struck us to come the next weekend to try. It was already having a queue at the main entrance during that hour.

As we were seated, we made known to the Uncle who was taking our order that it was our first visit, hence, we would like him to introduce us their specialities. One of which he introduced us was the "Yong Tou Foo".

I was made aware earlier by my BF that the original Hakka Yong Tau Foo are made of fish paste, salted fish or dried sotong and pork meat.

When the dish served, all of us was looking forward to taste the Yong Tau Foo. I personally found the fish paste is of less taste and the ingredients were not exactly what I have known as an original Hakka Yong Tau Foo. The deep fried Bean Curd skin was good as it was stuffed with a lot of fish paste and still crispy texture. The red chilli tasted sweet and we liked it. I found the Tofu tasted normal, nothing to shout about and so for the the bitter gourd and the brinjal.

Japanese Dessert  OK Aug 06, 2012

I have been thinking to explore this place and finally managed to made one. It is indeed a new outlet located in a very competitive location and having very limited parking space as well.

It served only a few selection of mille crepes. When we arrived, it was just 3 selections, namely Mango, Chocolate and Strawberry. We have chosen Mille Crepe Mango, cost RM11.90. In terms of the size, it is just a normal size of a cake, pricey and taste was nothing to shout about. The mille crepe was not doing good as it was too creamy and wet. The crepe was slightly sweet and the quality does not justify the price.

Next and also the final course of our meal was our nourishing dessert, Double-boiled sea coconut with ginseng and snow fungus.

This dessert I would rate it average good for the reason that they put generous amount of the ingredients but not up to my expectation in terms of the skill. It was quite a bit sweet and the temperature of the dessert when served on the table was only lukewarm. Improvement is really required.

Halal Chinese Restaurant OK Aug 03, 2012

To our final course of the lunch meal ie the dessert, Chinese Pancake with lotus paste and Santan, Cendol, Gula Melaka Kueh.

I do not know whether the Chinese Pancake was freshly baked but when served, it was just lacked of crispy texture, a bit oily and very little of lotus paste found in it. As for the Kueh, I found it was taste acceptable but improvement is required as it was lacking of freshness, the aroma of the gula melaka was not there or may be it was colouring?. The santan or coconut milk was not fresh either. The only comment on the cendol and the sweetness were good as well as the idea of the kueh.
