Jones Road mee goreng OK Jun 06, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam | Noodles

Sin Hup Aun is one of an old shops in Penang which is famous for its Mee Goreng and the Western Food. This shop is formerly known as Tip Top during the 90s when I was still a kid.. and used to ta pau the Western as well as the Mee Goreng. The shop last time is located along Jalan Burmah which is the same row as the Pulau Tikus police station had now moved to the Pulau Tikus market which is the same row with the market itself. Sin Hup Aun Cafe is one of the busiest coffee shops in Pulau Tikus. It is located at the junction of Jalan Pasar and Solok Moulmein

The mee goreng is no longer taste nice anymore as they no longer is dry mee goreng which I love. The taste is a bit salty and not nice.

Carnation OK Jun 06, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Café | Seafood | Noodles

Carnation is another restaurant along Gurney Drive which is famous for their stir-fried ( chu char) . Our plans is actually to Song River chu char as dad love it so much.. but the shop is closed. Neverless we change to the nearest location which is a few blocks away from Song River which is Carnation.

The food there is not bad. Let see what we ordered? Dad ordered a few dishes. One of it is Fried Lala which i don really prefer. The fried lala there is small and little and i can see the shells more than the meat itself. So, not my choice. I think i prefer kar par more than the lala.

Another dish will be Fried Chilly 3 beans which the owner will fried 3 types of beans with chillies. What i see is long beans, short beans and another i am not too sure. They stir fried them with chillies as well as some prawns. Not bad!! It has a slight spiciness in it as well.

Kayu Nasi Kandar OK Jun 06, 2012
Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Mixed rice

Kayu nasi Kandar is one of the famous 24 hours nasi kandar in Penang and it is famous for its longest roti tisu as well as many food there. This time, on my schedule back Penang with dear, we went to have Nasi Kandar since we arrived in Penang kinda late this time. What we had?

I ordered a normal Nasi Kandar with just a fried chicken as add in some curry. The food is not bad since the kuah is nice but fried chicken I still prefer the one in Changkat Jong in Teluk Intan. The fried chicken not really spicy and crispy.. haha.. but the taste is not bad.The chicken meat is quite tender and the curry is quite good with the tasty taste of it.

Seafood Popiah OK Jun 06, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Food court | Seafood

Padang Brown is another place for hawker delights in Penang. You can find quite a number of popular secrets food which is nice and tempating in thereWe ordered a few specialties .. one of it is the famous popiah. The popiah here is very famous and you need to wait a while to have them.. So, you should try it. It is not much different from any usual popiah.. but maybe due to the fresh ingredients and the way they wrap it makes it taste even nicer. The popiah is well made with the soup as well as the mengkuang. It is indeed very nice and good on its texture and the taste of it. Crunchy taste of the popiah and you can taste the filamen stick inside too.

J.L Gourmet OK Jun 06, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops | Vegetarian

J.L Gourmet which is located in Perangin Mall is well known and famous for its western food especially the mushroom soup. This restaurant which is located in the town having two branch, one is in New World Park and another in Prangin Mall. The main branch is located in Prangin Mall

I love to go there for western delights as the soup is nice as well as the western dishes is delighting as well. Price wise is still in reasonable range which is abour RM 15- RM 25 for different set meals you order. The set meals will comes with a drink, the soup, the main course as well as an ice cream of your choice.

Here comes my black pepper set.. the black pepper taste is superb as you can taste the heavy black pepper smell... but for me is not spicy enough. I still prefer the one in Pulau Tikus - Chef Delights for this one. Overall the taste of it is still great and delighting. The chicken is also tender in texture and it has a great smell of pepper which comes with it.
