Talk about the most famous steamboat in Penang, I would say is "Huo Guo Zhi Jia" near to Komtar there. There are variety of ingredients for you to Pick and Choose. Please bear in mind that, if you would to visit during Weekend, it will be definitely crowded.

The food is ok, and the price is reasonable.

Yesterday I finished work earlier at 3pm. The director gave the permission as we just finish our Quarter End closing, and he allowed us to back earlier as a gratitude on our efforts. It was so hot when I reached at my hostel. Thus, the roommate said let's get some dessert.

We chose a newly "Black Ball Grass Jelly Dessert" in 1st Avenue Mall. Thanks to Foursquare which have really introduced most of the nice / new food for us. This is another kind like Snowflake dessert which is really famous nowadays. There are more and more cafe selling this kind of dessert.

Details on the dessert

Full of Jelly food

this is the stall

We ordered warm dessert, you know girls don't take too much cold things. There is a TV showing the process to process the Grass Jelly in Taiwan. [The founder Taiwanese, and the ingredients here are imported from Taiwan]. I was so amazed to know that the dark black grass jelly is process by Real Grass. Well it is really tasty where you can feel the freshness of the dessert. This is the first time I took hot one, really nice.

Spending per head: Approximately RM6.9(下午茶)

Kek Lok Si Penang Laksa Smile Jun 07, 2012

I have no doubt to say that nobody will unknown about this place. The most famous Penang Asam Laksa which is located on the way to Kek Lok Si. There is a place which attract most of the tourists, and there are few dishes which is very nice as well.

I tried this before when I was young, and the most unforgettable cuisine here to me is the Ice Kacang with IceCream on top. I just have the chance to eat again after a quite few years. This is because, normally people from BW / Pg, will not really have frequent visit to Penang Tourism area, unless there are friends come to here.

Personally I like the asam laksa, and there are rumor about they actually use tissue paper to cook the soup. Well, I am kind of girl love peacefulness, thus I don't really believe this. Its depend on you yourself to make the judgement.

Recommended Dish(es):  Asam Laksa,Ice Kacang,Sugar cane drinks

Spending per head: Approximately RM5

Curry Mee Yummy OK Jun 07, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

I came to coffee house when I came back from Genting by bus that day . Normally the bus will stop at the bus station at Chai Leng Park, which is not far from this coffee house.

Chai Leng Park is well-known of their food as well. Where, you can heard many people will come around here to search for local Penang Food. You can see how tempting is the curry mee. I have added extra "Pork Blood" as I like this a lot. Their curry me is tasty, and not too spicy.

There are lots more difference local food selling at here. The price of food here is reasonable follows Butterworth rate. So if you are from KL / Penang George town, you will definitely feel that the price of food here is very cheap. smile
