Rice Wine Fish Smile Jul 18, 2012   (Related Review)

Dragon-i has been around in Malaysia since 2004. The dishes of Dragon-i are inspired from culinaries from the region of Shanghai, Beijing and Lanzhou in China. Among the signature dishes of Dragon-i are "Xiao Long Bao" (Shanghainese steamed meat dunplings)" and "La Mian" (hand pulled noodles). But I was there not for their "Xiao Long Bao" or "La Mian" but I was there for their fish cooked in rice wine. I believe nothing can go wrong with dishes that has wine in it.

Fish cooked in Rice Wine (RM 22)

There were lots of fish slices being given. Loved the thick wine broth which is slightly sweet in taste. The broth complemented the freshness of the fish slices nicely......The dish is very good to go with plain rice.....yummy yummy......

The honey glazed duck meat is one of the signature dish of Dragon-i.

Honey Glazed Duck Meat (RM 28)

As can be seen from the picture, there were only four pieces of duck meat being served.....Definitely pricey but it is tasty.......Other than the juicy savoury duck slices, other ingredients that can be found are honey braised lotus seeds, crispy fried beancurd slices and crunchy fresh cucumber slices.

Steam flour pancake to be eaten with the duck meat.......The pancake is soft and slightly sweet...Combine the duck meat, beancurd slices and cucumber together with the pancake and you will get a very tasty dish with different texture......yumyum

In conjuction with the RM 1 chicken promotion at Dragon-i in 2009, mum, aunt and I went there for it's chicken.

The RM 1 Braised Soy Chicken

Visually appealing appealing right? Yes indeed and the taste is good too. At first I thought the chicken portion will be small, but I was wrong. The size of the chicken is just right for the 3 of us. Very worth it. The chicken is marinated nicely and very flavorful...The meat is also smooth and tender.....

Craving for some green curry, my friend and I ordered Flying Chillies' Green Curry Chicken...

Green Curry Chicken (RM 16.00)

For a not that bug portion, the green curry chicken is a bit pricey for us. But the taste is great. The creamy Thai Green Curry is prepared using spices, coconut milk and chicken slices. Not really spicy, just nice for my tastebud. The gravy is really good to go with plain rice.

I was here at Flying Chillies for dinner with Jol and WK back in August 2011 for dinner. I ordered Flying Chillies' Red Ruby dessert as Red Ruby is a must order dessert in most Thai restaurants.

We were given a plate of complimentary dates because we visited them during the fasting month....Too sweet for my liking....not used to eating dates this way...........

Jol's Thai Iced Tea (RM 10.00)

Very nice drink....served like those three layered milk tea at other places.....mix all three layers together and you will get a nice satisfying drink........

My Red Ruby Water Chestnuts (RM 8.00)

A separate bowl of coconut milk was given to mix with the dessert's ingredients such as the sago, water chestnuts and jackfruit slices.

After mixing with the coconut milk, you will get a nice chilling dessert.....

The amount of coconut milk given was just nice. Not too sweet. Loved the red colored water chestnut rubbies, very chewyyyyyyy.........hehe
