Steamed Fire Breathing Fish (RM20)
What a nice name right, but actually, according to the waiter, the fish being used is known as Taipan fish aka Black Tilapia Fish. This fish is named as steamed fire breathing fish because it is steamed according to 3 different level of spiciness. Ours was level 1 with 5 chillies in it. I can't remember what is the number of chillies in level 3. If not wrong is more than 10 chillies. I'll order level 2 next time cause level 1 the spiciness is really lo...Can't feel the "kick"...hehe......The fish is steamed just right without the fishy smell....yummy yummy...........

I was introduced to Goon Wah Restaurant by my aunt. I went there last Thursday with my mum and aunt. This place is famous for their claypot XO Fish Head Noodles which is a must order for Fish Head Noodles lover.

However, remember to come early because it's usually crowded during lunch time.

XO Claypot Fish Head Noodle (if I am not wrong the price is RM 14)
The soup is slightly sour and not as "creamy" as other fish head noodle soup and very appetizing. The pot of noodles is filled with preserved salted vegetables (Ham Choy), sliced chillies and sliced tomatoes and also yam slices. The portion of a small claypot is just nice for 2 people.

Recommended Dish(es):  Fish head noodle

Guacamole with chips  Smile Aug 14, 2012   (Related Review)

Categories : Mexican | Restaurant | Bar & Pub

Before my friend and I start off our main dishes at Fresca, we had the following Guacamole with chips as our starter. Guacamole name comes from the Aztec translation of 'Guac' meaning avocado, and 'Mole' meaning sauce.

Guacamole with chips (RM20.00)

This starter came with a basket of Tortilla chips which is made of corn and avocado sauce as the dipping. The avocado is mashed and have similar texture with mashed potato. The difference it that the avocado is more creamy, thick and rich. The combination of the crispy chips and the dipping gives an interesting flavor to my palate. After finishing all the chips, we have plenty of the dippings left, but we still finished the dippings cause it was good.

Drinks @ Fresca Smile Aug 13, 2012

My first Mexican dining experience is given to Fresca Mexican Restaurant & Bar at The Gardens Mall. It is located just opposite Han's Room. This Mexican restaurant has a cosy and nice ambience. Service was good too as when we arrived, the workers there warmly greeted us and quickly arrange our seating place for us and handling us the menu. We ordered the following as our drinks:

Mango juice (RM 9.50)
A very good pure mango juice. This mango juice is very thick with very little water in it, unlike those diluted mango juice in some places where it is diluted with water. Another good thing is I don't think they added sugar into the juice, even if they added in, it must be very little because all I can taste is mango's natural sweetness and not from sugar. Very refreshing.

Avocado juice (RM 12.00)
The avocado juice is not bad either because it is very think and rich in avocado but the taste is on the bland side as they did not add in sugar as well.

Hello Panda Biscuits Smile Aug 10, 2012

Categories : Japanese

One of my favorite snacks are the Meiji's Hello Panda biscuits range. The products are manufactured by Meiji Seika (S) Pte Ltd in Singapore. Actually Hello Panda biscuit is a Japanese biscuit which has been around since 1979 in Japan.

I always get the biscuits from Shojikiya as they are selling at the cheapest price as compared to other places. They are selling them at RM 2.50 but there are places like Watson's selling them at RM 3.50.

There are four varieties (milk filling, double chocolate, chocolate and strawberry filling) of Panda biscuits available in the Shojikiya shops and I got the following two flavors which are my favourite among the 4 to eat.

Milk filling Panda Biscuits

The ingredients used in producing the biscuits include wheat flour, emulsifier, vegetable shortening, sugar, malt syrup, lactose, whole milk powder, skim milk powder, raising agent, salt, artificial sugar, milk flavorings, and seasonings such as vegetable protein and yoghurt powder.

Nice blue shiny packaging containing the biscuits

The cute panda printed and panda head shaped biscuits
As can be seen on the picture, the giant panda on the biscuits are doing various activities such as football, fencing and archery.

The yummy creamy milk filling in the biscuit

The crispy biscuits consisted of a small hollow shortbread layer, filled with with the yummy creamy milk cream.

Double chocolate flavor

I like the double chocolate bicuits very well. Not only the filling inside the biscuit is chocolate filling, the bicuit surounding the inside is also in chocolate flavor and thus, its' name double chocolate.
