Secret Recipe Smile Jun 27, 2012

Categories : Malaysian variety | Western variety | Café | Burgers / Sandwiches | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

I am craving for cake everyday recently, and I buy myself a cake after dinner everyday. Luckily Secret Recipe is easily found in Klang Valley, and I love their cakes that are always guaranteed with good quality. I may not like all their cakes, but the quality is always there.

marshmallow strawberry
The marshmallow strawberry cake has a crunchy biscuit base, and marshmallow is sandwiching between cold cheese and baked cheese, with juicy strawberry layering in within. I didn't really like these combination, as I feel the existent of marshmallow in a cake a very weird, but I give a credit to their creativeness.

ABC Cendol Stall OK Jun 27, 2012
Categories : Malaysian variety | Malay | Stall / Warung | Desserts

The best thing to cool youself down during the hot day is to feed yourself with a bowl a cool, nice and refreshing cendol. I spotted this little ABC cendol stall on road side and I head on to have a try.

The cendol is mix with my favourite gula melaka and it is not too sweet. But the owner is stingy in putting the green and black grass jelly into it. Besides, you can also add in some pulut into the cendol but I still prefer to have a plain version of cendol. Overall, it tasted not bad and does help me fight against the hot day.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf OK Jun 27, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Café | Burgers / Sandwiches | Halal

I was shopping in Empire Shopping Gallery and felt tired after a while, probably I didn't have enough sleep the last night. I looked for Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and ordered a piece of tiramisu. I always like Coffee Bean, for the atmosphere is very relaxing and I love the coffee aroma surrounding the whole cafe.

The sponge cake was soft and moist, laced with coffee and layered with mascarpone cheese. The tiramisu was nice, but there was still a gap from my desired tiramisu, as I like my tiramisu with kahlua and it is impossible to have that in Coffee Bean due to Halal concern.

Din Tai Fung Smile Jun 27, 2012

We went to Din Tai Fung at Pavilion for dinner on last weekend. The place was full with crowd and the staffs were busy serving food to the customer. This shows their food is really nice and attracting.

Spicy Shrimp Pork Wanton
A savory and spicy combinations that wakes up your appetite, with sizeable wanton placed on a bed of fiery sauce made from soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil and special sauce. The chili oil is not as spicy as it looks, but gives a gush of aromatic flavor that makes your bite into the into the spicy shrimp pork wanton brimming with shrimp and meat fillings so enjoyable

Myung-Ga Korean Restaurant Smile Jun 27, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ | Group/Family dining

I don't really fancy Korean dish my girl likes them so much. I feel that there is too much vegetables in their dish, and I am a meat lover. I was driving in Klang, a place mushrooming with bak kut teh shops. So of course I wanted to have bak kut teh but she came across Myung-Ga, a newly opened Korean restaurant that is nestled within the many bak kut teh shop. She insisted to have Korean food, so I gave up and follow her desire.

Bibimbap
To my surprise, their food was not bad at all. Cucumber, mushroom, spinach, carrots, bean sprout and many other vegetables was brimming on top of the steamed rice, and a raw egg sitting in the middle. I mixed everything together, and the taste was delightful, much better than I thought of. I think I will start to appreciate Korean food after this.

The many condiments ( ban chan) that I still don't fancy of, and my girl ate them all.
