The Ship @ KL Smile Jun 18, 2012

Located at the hub of the city, The Ship at Bukit Bintang is one of the oldest franchise Western dining restaurants in Malaysia. Upon arrival for dinner, I was greeted by some soft background music with myriad of dim lights outside the restaurant. The ambiance inside is very soft, comfortable and relaxing.

I had a platter of Sizzling Rib Eye and it is served really piping hot with the meat still cooking on the sizzling plate. Having the meat medium-rare is my favourite because at The Ship, it is very juicy and thick in flavours.

Along with it is some vegetables and sauce which balance up the sweet and salty taste. Very delicious and recommended.

Plan B is famed for its freshly brewed coffee, and I find it a very suitable place to drink and relax early in the morning. For a hearty breakfast, their egg benedict is quite good but I was in a rush, so I just get to try their coffee.

Their coffee is very aromatic, I believe it is from fine quality of grained coffee beans. The scent is quite strong, and very warm when going down my throat. I enjoy it with some crispy cookie to add more flavours. I add some sugar to make it smoother, and slightly bitter. The cup is quite big, and reasonably priced for the quality i get.

Dave's Bistro, Bar and Grill is a nice place for casual dining with lots of western delights, sandwiches, and beautiful desserts.

Vietnamese-French Inspired Banh Mi Sandwich

It is basically a sandwich of meat combined with herbs and spices, and used a julienne of vegetables to decorate. It was accompanied by a small julienne salad and tonka vinaigrette for better flavours. Beneath the crispy skin, there lies the sliced meat which comes in a soft texture, assortments of vegetables as well as some crispy croutons. Very tangy and salty in a well-balanced manner!

Classic French Tea Cake with Chocolate Ganache

The inner part of the cake is equally aromatic as the skin, and soft and fresh enough to keep me indulged in such heavenly dessert! Light and sweet, delicious!

Passion Fruit Macarons

Needless to mention, it's one of the best macaron I ever have, with the fusion of soft and crispy texture. The tangy passion fruit crust is very appetizing while chilled, and I love the melt-in-the-mouth texture. Sweet and sour dessert that perfects my day.

Despite of the healthiness of organic vegetarian food, I've always had a perception that they're all bland and boring. Now I've changed my mind after stepping into Chef Lim Organic Kitchen, located in the new Scott Garden mall along Jalan Klang Lama. The ambiance is simply clean and inviting, I know nothing will go wrong in the foodstuff as the cleanliness here is highly maintained.

Fruits Tea (水果茶) @ RM14.90 (Small) / RM17.90 (Large)

A sip of the fresh fruits tea is savouring enough as the starter of the meal. Blended with slices of apples, lemon, oranges and passion fruits, the tea is naturally sweet and sour. So healthy indeed!

Fruit Pizza (水果披萨) @ RM19.90

Mainly consisting of apple slices and strawberries, the thin-crusted pizza tastes heavenly good with the generous oozing cheese topping. Naturally sweetened with the flavours of fruits, it is just in the right balance of saltiness which satisfies me well.

Ettora @ Solaris Dutamas Smile Jun 16, 2012

When it comes to tea snack, I'd always love to have some English tea at Ettora which also provides classy gourmet gift hampers in the shop. Displayed on the exquisite rack, there's a wide range of decadent cookies that come in bright coloured containers, fruit cake, chocolates, gift hamper boxes, champagnes and wines for your picking.

Fruitcakes @ RM9

Bursting with mixed dried fruits and nuts, each piece of this decadent cake is moist and crunchy. It's a good piece to satisfy my cravings indeed. Not so sweet but just light enough to savour on.

This star-shaped cookie is called the "Hazelnut Shortbread", with a buttery blend of freshly ground hazelnuts. I enjoy it so much as it slowly melts in my mouth with a tinge of sweet and salty tastes.
