Everytime I visit a night market, I will try out the sour and spicy food before going for desserts and drinks. There are too many stalls around, I see this assam laksa stall with not much crowd.

Sitting down, we order this assam laksa. The taste is so-so and has nothing much to exaggerate about. The spiciness is low, so is the sour taste. I hardly see much fish inside the bowl.

Another noodle would be the Har Mee (Prawn Noodles). The soup is very rich in seafood flavours, but too rich that the unpleasant smell of not-so-fresh seafood is revealed. However, it comes in a big bowl, good for big eater.

Pan Mee at Tasty Kitchen, Puchong OK Jun 12, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

This place is still unique as it serves pan mee of different flavours for the noodles. Original, spinach, dragon fruit and carrot flavoured noodles are available here. Choose your favourite or if you wish, you can have all together.

Seaweed Pan Mee @ RM 6.30

Here's the most basic pan mee available in store. It looks appetizing because of the colours but the soup base is overly salty here. The seaweed just absorbs too much seasonings from the soup and I hardly finish this bowl.

Black Pepper Pan Mee @ RM 6.30

It is overly seasoned with black pepper, and I find it too strong for my taste. The noodles are good, not overly soft, but lacking of its stated flavours.

One Chef Cafe @ Jaya One OK Jun 12, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Western variety | Café | Seafood | Noodles

One Chef is a cafe with a simple and nice decor. It offers wide range of local and international food, from the most traditional bread and rice to all kinds of western grills and fried food.

Fried Rice Special with Chinese Sausage @ RM8.90

A lot of rice with only a few shrimps. Quite oily and salty because of the chinese sausage. Nothing much to complain about.

Kong Po Spaghetti @ RM9.80

This is special as it is a fusion of Western and Chinese food. And this is the first time for us to see Kong Po Spaghetti, quite satisfying with hints of spicy salty taste infused into the springy noodles.

Sambal Spaghetti @ RM9.80.

This is a very unique dish as well. Although the amount of sambal used here is quite minimal, the spiciness is quite strong here. However, I find it too dry and I have to keep drinking water to get myself hydrated. A little sauce or more watery sambal will do good on this dish.

Yellow Cab Pizza  OK Jun 12, 2012
Categories : Western variety | Italian | Restaurant

Most of the time, I go for Papa Johns or Domino's when I'm craving for some pizza. Honestly, I have not seen any Yellow Cab Pizza franchise in KL, except at the centre of the city.

Led by curiosity, I tried on the pizza with the most varieties of toppings. With black olives, capsicums, onions and beef, the pizza is very distinctive in flavours. The pizza crust is the thick version, but the dough is quite good, as the bread does not harden easily.

The amount of cheese is relatively generous, but if it can be melted more evenly, the pizza will have a better taste!

Dessert @ Sweet Hut, Kuchai Lama OK Jun 12, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Café | Desserts

Talking about sweet hut, it is a dessert house of red and white color interior. It always gives me an impression that it is a place only for couples.

But the other day I went with my friend, and we had a great time with the wide selection of chinese and international desserts there.

We order a bowl of chilling mango sago pomelo dessert. It is one of the famous Hong Kong dessert in the house, and we find that the mango chunks are freshly cut from the fruit, while sago and pomelo are mild in taste. The syrup is quite sweet but when it is chilled, it is more soothing for me.

Overall, it is not bad. This place is more convenient for those around the neighbourhood if you want to try some decent desserts.
