We are served together with sauerkraut, potato salad, senf, garlic mayo and haanero mayo as our side dishes. We had the Bauerwurst, Knackwurst, Weisswurt, Hahnchenwurst, Thuringer Bratwurst, Nurnberger Bratwurst, Chorizo and the Bockwurst sausages. This wirstplatte is big enough for 5-10 pax.
If you have had sauerkraut before, they are these sour "coleslaw"-like side dishes, which goes well with any of the savory sausages. We had the pork, beef, and chicken sausages in this platter. German sausages, you just have to taste them to appreciate their different types of texture, hardness and flavours.
I especially liked the bauerwurst sausage, whcih had these crispy on the outside skin, while soft on the inside meat. Now that's a good sausage if you asked me.
