We had a Korean colleague who came over to visit our branch recently, so a group of colleagues decided to bring her to try some authentic Yong Tau Fu.This shop is located in an assuming area of USJ 14, in the middle of a row of shops. Pardon the tree for covering the signage of the restaurant. We were given an order chit and all we had to do was just inform the waitress how many pieces we needed for each piece of yong tau foo.The fried dumplings came first. It arrived scorching hot, as we had to wait for it to cool down before eating it. The fried dumplings were delicious as it is full of fillings. The edge of the dumpling was also very crispy. The fried pork ribs (pai kuat) arrived next. It was also very delicious as it was flavourful and aromatic. As with the dumplings, it came out really hot, so once again we had to wait for it to cool down. However, I found it to be marinated a tad too salty but still OK when served with rice. The yong tau fu assortments that we ordered came in a large plate. We ordered some stuffed tofu, fish cake, stuffed bittergourd, and stuffed brinjals. Generally they were quite good. However, my only complaint was that the gravy that came with this assortments were too bland for my liking. I would prefer for it to be more flavourful to serve with the rice. Finally, the fried bean curd skin (foo chuk) arrived. It had a thin layer of meat in the middle of the skin, but generally the skin was very crispy and delicious! It was a good end to the meal, some sort like a snack.I really appreciate that the fried food were made fresh, making it crispy and delicious. The only minor problem was with the gravy. Surely I will come again. continue reading
