I just want to kill time as I am waiting for my friend to join me for movie. Since it is 3pm, why not drop by at Oldtown for a cup of tea. I had cup of coffee this morning, thus I opt for Teh Tarik (RM4.15) this time. My drink was served fast, perhaps is not much customer around this hour. I did not expect the Teh Tarik is good, sweetness is just right and the tea aroma is there.   Of course, I would like to have something to munch with. Garlic Toast (RM4.53) is the best option to pair with my drink. I can smell the strong smell of the garlic and butter. The toast is soft and crunchy at the edge. This is delicious. continue reading

I would like take a breakfast at old town ,it got a breakfast set which cost us rm5 something only include GST and it is come with a beverage and you can top up rm1 to enlarge your beverage, i like this old town cheras branch because the soya milk and hot chocolate at here is quite nice and very hot enough for me,it also wont to sweet and original not mix with the water already, seen i had a bad experience with another branch of the old town before, the service is bad and the beverage like not taste at all but is same franchise .I had order a tomyam fried meehon with hot soya. It is a quite value breakfast meal for who work at klang valley person. Nowadays ,even a nasi lemak add beverage also cost a rm4 something,at old town you also can enjoy their wifi and good environment there with non smoking area. continue reading

continue reading

OLDTOWN French ToastFinally tried out the very own French Toast by Old Town Kopitiam. Come in a thick toast that has been sliced half evenly to spread some butter and kaya. The bread is then sealed tightly byt dipping it in some beaten egg before is being fried up. That resulted in a thin layer of eggy taste on the outside, before topping off with a scoop of milky butter alongside some honey too. The lingering sweet and saltiness from the honey and butter seems pretty delectable, albeit is a tad sinful for a night snack. However, only the middle part of the bread is seen to be well filled with the jam, leaving the crust side a bit too dry. Seems like the same fare from the other Hong Kong competitor is much better. continue reading

Being a commercialized chain of restaurants means that everything on the menu's probably standardized.. in terms of ingredients that's probably pre-packed in advanced. And so basically the chicken hor fun soup here is very normal..at least for me. Definitely do not have that special touch found in those hours-long-infused chicken stock broth at Ipoh's famous hor fun establishments. The chicken's tender enough, hor fun OK enough.. but the soup base's sadly lacking a bit. continue reading
