Gekikara Ramen. It was Valentine's day and the restaurant was full house. We were lucky to get a seat during that time. My dining partner always like to order something very interesting instead of the normal ramen. For example this Gekikara Ramen. This ramen came in red broth which was slightly spicy. It consisted a tempura, squid and ramen. It was quite nice actually. continue reading

At Nippon Yataimura Japanese Restaurant, I am amazed with lots of authentic Japanese cuisine, with very original elements in it, including the cooking methods, presentation styles as well as the taste and flavours. The food is of middle-range price, but the quality is quite good. Boyfriend and I had a platter of fresh sashimi with prawns and sushi. The salmon slices are cut into thick slices, revealing its sweet juiciness. It may not be the freshest I have tried, but I am satisfied with the generous portion. The prawn is very fresh, and a dip into wasabi is perfect to enhance it with sharp pungent finish. continue reading

Nippon Yataimura is a decent and affordable place for sushi as far as sushi restaurants in malls goes. What we know about the shop? I think most people will know the BIG cat infront of the shop I can say. The restaurant had just made a new look up and we had entered in to the restaurant this time.Ten Don is tempura with rice. The tendon is not much a delighting one and is kinda salty. The tempura is not too fresh as well. Taste: 3/5Price: RM 13.00 continue reading

I was craving for Japanese food for a week now. Finally, I bum into one of the Japanese restaurant in 1U. It is called Nippon Yataimura. I have not try this place yet everytime shopping in 1U.SalmonRM19.00My friend order the salmon set. He like the grilled salmon very much. I guess it is very nice since he recommend to come back again.RM19.80I took the set that have ramen and rice since I want to try both. Ramen was not bad, but I still prefer Hokkaido Santouka Ramen. The rice was nice, just like fried rice. Nothing special about the whole set. A normal meal to fulfill your tummy. continue reading

My first experience with this franchise was way up north in Penang Island (I think that particular outlet is possibly closed down by now) and it made a very good impression: sizable portions, good variety, reasonable prices and YUMMY food.So when I saw the same franchise over in 1Utama, my first reaction was "Yay! Lets GO!"This was what I orderedFor that amount of food, it cost me only RM20++ The set came with ramenPlus two sushi rollsand even some salad thingy and chawanmushi as sidelines. Not too bad for the price that they're charging, but the food didn't taste quite as fantastic as I expected it to be. No wonder there weren't many people at the outlet while the one I visited in Penang was PACKED!And to top it all off, the food had a rather cold, soggy and very oily..Lesson learnt. Not going back there anymore! continue reading
