Citta Mall is an improbable locale for a European-inspired brasserie, especially one that's strictly non-halal, but confounding expectations might be Las Delicias' forte. Las Delicias' food seems pricey for this part of town, but its ingredients are plentiful & praiseworthy. Can't fault the fettuccine, with lots of lip-smacking pork bacon & luscious scallops luxuriating in light tomato cream (RM34++). Herb-cooked duck confit, flavorful in a fine fellowship with potato gratin & mesclun in mushroom-&-mustard sauce (RM39++). More elaborate & enjoyable than many other versions. Cheesecakes constitute the cornerstone of Las Delicias' dessert counter; this mysteriously named "Monte Carlo cake," with traces of wine, is moist & well-balanced in sweet-savoriness. Complimentary cookies. Reminiscent of buttery-nutty Chinese New Year ones. And of course, there's red & white by the bottle & the glass. We'll drink to Las Delicias' future, though the lack of a weekend lunch crowd here isn't a positive portent. continue reading

Glad to finally find a proper Spanish restaurant in Ara Damansara. We ordered the pork bacon carbonara, duck confit and lamb shank and all were very good. Service was good and attentive but my only complaint was, we had to wait a while for our food. Though when the food was served, the waiter apologised for the delay, which I appreciated. Guess next time we will go before 6pm as when we arrived at 7.30pm, the place was packed. Overall I will certainly go back. Oh and be sure to try their cheesecake, best I've tried so far. continue reading

Found this place in Citta Mall when eating at Meatworks last week (I know - I shouldn't be going there with all the scandals). I was intrigued by the non-halal menu and especially the offer of a meat platter which includes parma ham. There weren't enough of us so we'll try the platter another time. When we got there on a Sunday evening, there was only another table but the restaurant filled up later. The decor was pleasant and they have a room for private party of maybe 15-20 pax. No menu was provided and we ordered through the day's menu written on a big board. We ordered the fettuccine carbonara and pork burger. The carbonara sauce was creamy but lighter than normal . We liked it this way as many other restaurants make it so thick that it becomes artery-choking. My partner liked the burger but I thought the one in Kissaten was better. The restaurant also has a small bakery and cake area. There was a promotion and we got a free cake with the coffee (RM9.90). The italian coffee was great and the chocolate cake was very decent. The highlight of the evening was the Sapporo draft beer which I have not found elsewhere in KL. Promotion was RM48 for 2 pints which we polished off before the food.Service was prompt and polite and the waiter recommended the lamb shank which we will try the next time.Overall this was a nice meal and I will come back again to try the meat platter, but definitely the coffee or beer will be compulsory. The prices were mid-range between RM20 - RM40 per main dish so not too cheap but reasonable for higher end non-halal joints I guess. continue reading
