As a late night snack, the roti bakar is a good option. I didn't put much hope for the roti bakar from chawan but hey, I was really surprised! I love their roti bakar! They were lightly toasted but still manage to maintain the fluffiness of the bread. If I'm not mistaken, they used hainanese bread to toast to get the extra fluffiness. The kaya butter spread was sufficient, not too much and not too little. Both sweet and salty taste compliments the toasted roti. It left me craving for more!

Looking for some healthier snack, I chose Chawan's rojak. However, they were quite strict with the ingredients so they couldn't allow separating out the turnip and cucumber. So I was forced to eat those as well. The sauce was a bit watery for my liking and the taste is also not strong to categorize as a good rojak paste. It's only spicy. The crushes peanuts were too fine and wasn't coarse enough to be savoured as crunchy...

If you feel that the lunch is not enough, try ordering the teh ice (RM4.80++) to fill you up. With the same taste of bitterness from the teh o ice, the teh ice come with sweeter and milkier taste from the fresh milk and sugar. The richness of the teh is just nice to fill you up without feeling too jelak. And if you feel that it's too thick, just let the ice melt a bit and it will be just nice to complete your meal.

The choice of drink on a hot afternoon to quench the thirst of an office worker. This big glass of slightly bitter, slighty sweet but refreshing drink is perfect if not for the overwhelming amount of ice! It takes up almost half of the glass and cost RM4.30++ which I think does not do it's justice. However, it will definitely leave you ask for more as this drink is truly cooling to the soul.

If you feel famished, look no more. Just order the nasi lemak chicken rendang and it'll guarantee to stuff you to the brim. For a hefty RM4.60 for just a glass of teh o ice limau, this drink is not without its merits. For one, it's one of the 'teh' which I think use premium tea because of the heavy, bitter tea taste that lacks in most of the mamak stalls. Added with big juicy limau kasturi, the drink is truly refreshing with a combination of sweet, sour and sligty bitter taste. Not to mention that the glass is actually quite big. Chug it after a plate of nasi lemak and see yourself bloat.

For RM3.50 per packet of nasi lemak, this is a steal! Once open, the fragrance of the rice wrapped in banana leaf was so good that will leave your mouth watery. This proofs that the banana leaf manage to capture the essence without letting it out of the 'bungkus'. It was also covered with a generous amount of sambal ikan bilis. The sambal was very spicy and will leave any nasi lemak lovers craving for more. They gave half a piece of hard boil egg and slices of cucumber as sides which are nice ad

I felt that I should drink a bit more as I anticipate that I will be thirsty in the stadium while watching Chelsea later, so I decided to order a Teh O Ais Limau to hydrate myself. The drink came in a jiffy, and it was laden with ice. There were two limes in the drink, which gives it a good lime flavour, not weak at all. The tea flavour was aplenty too, and it definitely made a refreshing experience.

Wifey didn't want to drink anything milky or sour, so I ordered the teh O ais for her while she went to buy something from Presto supermarket. The drink is quite nice, not too sweet with lots of tea flavour. I like the fact that the ice was aplenty, so it kept the drink cool while wifey was not there. The portion of the drink was quite large, and it was more than enough for thirsty wifey.

I always find the teh ais here a bit too sweet for my liking. Hence, when I ordered this time, I told the waiter to make it kurang manis. It was still sweet, but better this time. The ice in the drink diluted it a bit, which was fine by me. It was full of milk and tea flavour, which was very nice. The drink is quite big in portion, but since it was a hot evening, it was finished in no time.

Wifey ordered the Nasi Lemak Chicken Rendang for her dinner. The ensemble was quite nice, with a portion of fluffy rice cooked in santan and onions. The rice was also a bit too soft compared to normal. I like the broiled kangkung that comes along with the set, which is quite refreshing. The sambal is quite spicy, but I like it that way. The chicken rendang was cooked nicely, flavoured and slightly spicy. The chicken was juicy and tender, even though the part given is breast. The usual condiments

Just before the Chelsea vs Harimau Malaya match last Sunday, wifey and I decided to have an early dinner so that we wouldn't need to be ripped off by the stalls in the stadium. Apparently no food is allowed in. So we went to Chawan to have some nasi lemak beforehand. I ordered the Nasi Lemak Bungkus, basically my staple meal there. It was slightly disappointing this time, as the rice seems to be very wet. It wasn't as well done to the normal standard. The sambal is spicy and good as usual. The i

There is a myriad of selection for their kopi in Chawan. Some of them include Aik Cheong, Kemaman, Ipoh, Tupai and many more. Wifey is usually a fan of Kopi Kemaman Ais, however, the last time we had it, we felt that it was rather rather down, and no longer as 'kaw' as before.
