Like many Indian restaurants, there is also an assortment of kuih and traditional Indian desserts. The curry puffs are great and so is their other kuih. The dishes are served pretty fast and quick so don't bother getting these for starters or whatsoever. Instead, enjoy them during tea break over a glass of teh tarik. The Indian desserts are really colourful but take note that is quite sweet and I find the sweetness to be slightly over the top even for my palate. continue reading

This is a regular restaurant that my husband and i visit. We love the banana leaf set, with simple few vege dishes, papadam and lots of rice (you can ask for more!) that "flooded" with curry gravy. The curry is quite spicy, but it's always the perfect match for the white rice and papadam. The vege dishes are not the same each time, sometimes three dishes, sometimes four. These vege are such as pumpkin in sweet spicy sauce, cucumber salad, fried bitter gourd, fried eggplant, and green leafy vege, to name but a few. We normally order extra dish like fried fish, fried chicken or curry fish. Personally i prefer curry fish than the deep fried dishes, as the deep-fried are oily.Restoran Abirami is located on a busy road, but there are plenty of parking lots behind the restaurant. It's a half open and the ventilation is good so you won't feel so hot. The place is clean. The workers and waiters are friendly, and the food price is reasonable. It has other varieties of food like roti, nasi, but my favourite still banana leaf set. continue reading
