This is a traditional Melaka dish. It is cooked with a type of fruit. I think the name of the fruit is buah melaka. This is really something quite new to me. The chicken and gravy were in black colour, assuming the colour from the fruit. The sauce tasted a bit salty but also the taste of the fruit was also infused in the sauce. The fruit can be eaten by scooping out the flesh and eat with the sauce and the chicken. The gravy coated the chicken pieces nicely. Nice dish.
