We landed at this restaurant upon recommendation of a Bangsar friend of ours. He invited us to go to Sam U Claypot (not to confuse with Sam Yu Chinese Restaurant) for hangout time. Parking was a bit of a hassle as it is a hotspot. We were lucky to found a spot right in front of the restaurant ( I deem it a miracle). However in usual cases, I reckon that visitors have to park further away and walk a distance. Decor was normal like an average chicken rice shop but somehow the place is crowded. Ou

Our dear friend called some of the dishes that is well known: -

A) Signature Pork Rib.

It puzzles me how is this dish their "signature" dish as the portion is small. In addition, the meat was TOUGH and hard to chew on. The sauce was just really average.

B) Claypot Asam Seafood Curry

It was OK. The ingredients was quite a handful though. The fish slices was not that tough and it was OK. However, I've tasted better and cheaper curries than this. And the portion is small as well.

C) Tung Po Meat

Meat was tough and the sauce is just mediocre. Really dissapointing. Even Esquire Kitchen wan taste better.

D) Kangkung Belacan (not in photo)

Standard fare. Nothing to shout about.

Overall, we think the food is fairly average and their portion is rather small. Some of our friends are still hungry after one round of dishes. The price itself is not reasonable as well...

For the hassle of getting here and getting a parking spot, this restaurant just will not cut it.

If you want to look for a better chinese cuisine, look no further at Tian Tian Lai Seafood Restaurant - It's larger portion and the price are reasonable...
