The venue: Puchong. The mission: To indulge in an all-out noodle-fest! Sang har meen. Reasonably priced at 38 ringgit, but not the best in town. The freshwater prawns were the small variety, lacking the roe that that should have inundated the broth. Stick to Soo Kee for a more satisfying version. Yee mee with stewed pork ribs. A steal at 12 ringgit; the serving was hearty, with huge chunks of pork ribs, but taste-wise, it was lackluster. Creamy butter squid. Can't go wrong with this; sinful but satisfying. Potato leaves for the necessary serving of fiber. Tasted like they had been doused in booze (but that was simply the fermented bean curd working its magic). continue reading

Mama Kitchen is a restaurant located inside Sooka Food Court in Brickfields. This is a restaurant servings a wide variety of chinese cuisines. Baby KailanStir fried baby kailan along with some chinese wine (Siew Heng Zao) and also Yu Lou. Garlics and onions slices are also included inside. The bay kailan was not soft but they were crunchy. I had always prefered kailan taste in soft texture but this dish was really delicious too. Claypot Loh She Fun. The food was served after 5 min of ordering, it was so aromatic! The loh she fun was served hot in claypot and massive amount of minced pork on top together with an egg. We have to stir the minced pork and loh shue fun balancely under piping hot state. The gravy was delicious and the loh she fun was moist. Despite that, it was on slightly oily as a whole. continue reading

Mama Kitchen started off their very first business at Jalan Sultan but now they have their new branch at Brickfields Sooka Food Court. Mama Kitchen is famous with their claypot loh she fun and also roast pork. So, we are here to try out their dish.Signature Claypot Loh She Fun. (RM7 small, RM12 medium, RM15 big)The loh she fun is served with minced pork, liver slices and a raw egg on top. The raw egg helps to make the loh she fun more creamy and delicious.
